The Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC) published the names of seven candidates for mayor and nine candidates for councillor on Thursday, June 17. Candidates for mayor include Cr Sue Bastone, Cr Gideon Cordover, Cr Flora Fox, Cr Steve Wass, Cr Paula Wriedt, Clare Glade-Wright of Kingston and Mark Thorpe of Blackmans Bay. Candidates for councillor include David Bain, Di Carter, Geean (Singh) Chuckowree, Clare Glade-Wright, Phoenix Harrison, Kate Lucas, Roger McGinniss, Mark Richardson and Mark Thorp. According to the TEC, postal ballot packs for the by-election should arrive by Friday, June 25. The poll closes at 2pm on Tuesday, July 20.
