Many of these were found and posted to that location by Steve Girard. Others were obtained from US Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, historical archives and were furnished to me by André Sobocinski.

Brigadier General Charles A. Doyen USMC Doyen was relieved of his command of the 4th Brigade of Marines in early May, 1918 due to ill health. His removal and replacement with General Harbord was met with hostility by a number or marines who resented the replacement of a well-respected marine with an army who had no combat experience. Among those was , USMC, who was the Brigade Intelligence Officer.
