PROSECCO ROUTE TO VENICE CYCLING THROUGH VENETO’S VINEYARDS THE PROSECCO ROUTE TO VENICE SUMMARY Cycle through the vineyards of the Veneto region, sampling sparkling Prosecco and fiery Grappa as you travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Venice, hailed by the NY Times as ‘undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man’. Experience Italy’s varied landscapes as the flat plains of the Veneto region give way to the rolling foothills of the Prosecco vineyards, all the time surrounded by the imposing Italian Dolomites. Cycle through Medieval villages, cypress-lined lanes and along the winding River Sile, towards the city of Venice, world-famous for its glorious architecture, rich history and iconic waterways. Your cycling tour starts in the charming walled city of Treviso. Cycle on through quiet farmland, passing small villages, towards the town of Mussolente, where you will spend two nights at a peaceful country hotel. The next day’s ride takes you through Bassano al Grappa, where you can taste the strong fiery liquor originating from the town. You continue past Monte Grappa, site of many battles during WWI.
