8 EU MS (AT, ES, FI, NL, SK, CZ, DK, SE) advise against non-essential travel to . It is stressed though, that the Suvarnabhumi international airport remains open, can be reached from the city centre and flights to destinations elsewhere in continue to operate normally.

6 EU MS (UK, HU, PL, FR, IT, IE) as well as CH and NO have downgraded the travel advise to “exercise caution” when travelling to Thailand.

Water maintenance plan (by FROC and GISTDA) /remains unchanged/

In order to facilitate maintenance as well as to control the flow of the water from the North, Bangkok has been divided into 3 parts:

WEST: 30% - drainage via Tha Chin River to the sea CENTRAL: 50% - drainage via Chao Phraya River to the sea EAST: 20% - drainage via Bang Pakong River and Nakhon Nayok River to the sea /it is planned to increase the water drainage via this area/

Water level in Khlong Maha Sawat as well as Khlong Tawee Watthana has been remaining very stable for over a week now and has been gradually decreasing approximately 1 cm / 24 hrs. Tonburi district continues to be affected by the runoff from Salaya (Nakhom Pathom). The influx is stable though the water barriers have not been fixed for many days now. Currently below mentioned canals require drainage due to overflows (Khlong Bang Chak at Putthamonthon Sai 2 has been fixed): . Khlong Maha Sawat at Putthamonthon Sai 2 . Khlong Bang Prom at Khlong Chak Pra (Kanchanapisek Road and party Putthamonthon Sai 3) . Khlong Bang Chuang Ngang at Putthamonthon Sai 2 . The water at the Khlong Song water gate has decreased 5 cm during the last 24 hrs (last week approx. 1-2 cm/ 24 hrs, two days ago 3 cm / 24 hrs). Overflows requiring drainage (Khlong Bang Khen at Vibhavadi Road has been fixed overnight): . Khlong Namkaew at Ratchadapisek Road . Khlong Prem Prachakorn at Wat Thevasoonthorn . Khlong Bang Sue at Phahon Yothin Road (water level dropped 5-10 cm during last 24 hrs) . Khlong Lad Phrao at Wat Lad Phrao (Soi Sena Nikhom and Soi Lad Phrao 56)

Water in the areas do Don Muaeng and Chatuchak districts has significantly decreased (6-8 cm during last 24 hrs comparing to 3 cm 48 hrs ago). The situation in Lad Phrao district has also improved as the water level started to decrease (3-6 cm / 24 hrs). Khlong Saen Saeb remains stable.

Huai Kwang and Wang Tonglang still remain unaffected though should remain caution.

2. Tap water /remains unchanged/ The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority/ INFO: 1125 (Hotline)/

The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority has reconfirmed that the tap water quality is in compliance with the WHO standard. However, in some areas it might be slightly contaminated (yellowish color and smell). The contamination is not health threatening though.

3. Flood water

Flood water at “Hi Tech Industrial Estate” and “Rojana Industrial Estate” (both located in Ayutthaya Province) have been tested by the Department of Pollution Control (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) and its quality has been found either fair or poor. Therefore 1,095 liters of liquid EM (effective microorganism) have been dispatched in the area. Liquid EM has also been distributed in Don Muaeng and Bang Phlat districts to prevent water contamination as the area is heavy flooded and the water is expected to remain at least for about 2 more months.

Liquid EM is also available for other areas residents if required, though needs to be collected at the Department of Water Resources.

4. Diseases and medication /remains unchanged/

The Ministry of Public Health / INFO: 1669

The Ministry has advised that so far there is no epidemical threat due to the flooding. The situation is being very closely monitored especially in the affected areas for the occurrence of: pinkeye, measles, diarrhea, leptospirosis, dengue fever, malaria and cold. The top 5 reported illnesses are: 1) tinea pedis, 2) strained muscles, 3) fever, 4) skin disease and 5) headache.

5. Food and drinking water /remains unchanged/

Shortage of dried / tinned food and bottled water has been reported in most supermarkets due to supply chain disruption as well as high. The production of the missing items has been increased as well as extra imports of consumer goods have been allowed by the government. The Ground Water Resources provides clean water for the flood victims in affected areas. People need to bring their containers though. SUVARNABHUMI – operating normally The airport is well-secured and local authorities as well as the external experts confirm it will not be affected by the floods. U-Tapao military airport is ready for eventual overtaking of flights.

DON MUAENG – closed from 7 pm, 25th October until further notice

Flights are either cancelled or rebounded to Suvarnabhumi airport. It is necessary to contact with the particular airlines to confirm the flight status or schedule.

Current water level : 1,3 m. It is expected that the airport might be reopened within 2 months. The actual date depends on the speed of the water drainage though.

Services (visa exptenstion, re-entry permits, 90 days notification) for foreign tourists or aliens:

Ayutthaya Immigration Office: Ayutthaya Highway Police (opposite Ayutthaya Park and Tesco Lotus) Bangkok Immigration Bureau (Soi Suanplu, Building 1, 1st Floor)

Nonthaburi Immigration Office Petroleum Gas Station (Soi Samakkee, Towanon Road) Bangkok Immigration Bureau (Soi Suanplu, Building 1, 1st Floor)

Bangkok Immigration Office: Office at Chaeng Watthana Road operates, though there are difficulties in accessing the area. Therefore, the Immigration Division 1 and 3 will has opened extra services at following offices:

Chamchuri Square Buliding 18th Floor, 319 Phaya Thai Road, Pathum Wan, Bangkok

(work, studying and teaching only) - extension of temporary stay - 90 days report for the above mentioned reasons. - re-entry permit for the above mentioned reasons.

Immigration Bureau Office Soi SuanPlu, 1st Floor of Building 1, Bangkok

(tourism, retirement, medical treatment, spouse of Thai citizens, children of legally residing aliens, other)

- extension of temporary stay - 90 days report - re-entry permit - visa issuance and type change - other services
