Clarkston Train Station situated 0.5 miles to the north, provides regular services to Glasgow Central Station and East Kilbride. Regular bus services are also available on Eaglesham Road, whilst access to the motorway network is available via junction 3 of the M77, located 3 miles to the west of the site at Darnley. Rouken Glen Park and Pollok Country Park are also within a 15 minute drive of the site. Carolside and Saint Joseph’s Primary School lie within walking distance, whilst Eastwood Health Centre is located approximately 1 mile to the north west. Williamwood Secondary School lies 0.7 miles to the south of the site. It lies adjacent to the category C-Listed , Greenbank Church, and is presently accessed directly off Eaglesham Road. The site is set within attractive landscaped grounds which feature a number of mature trees and occupies an elevated position off Eaglesham Road sloping towards it from west to east. The development site will have its own dedicated access from Eaglesham Road at the northern end of the site. The character of the surrounding area is predominantly residential in nature and features a mix of detached and semi-detached villas and bungalows. PlANNING The site is covered by East Renfrewshire Council Local Development Plan (adopted June 2015) and is identified as lying within Clarkston Town Centre which is a Business Improvement District (SG8.9). Planning Enquiries in respect of the redevelopment of the site should be directed to East Renfrewshire Council’s Planning Department. Initial discussions between our clients and East Renfrewshire Council’s planning department have been well received in terms of the principle of development for residential related uses thereon. Whilst there are no listed buildings located on the development site, the adjoining Greenbank Church is a category C listed building (Ref: LB52459).
