4 I. CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT

On behalf of the Host Committee, I am thrilled to put forth Regina’s bid to host the 2020 Canadian Masters Athletics National Championships.

Regina last successfully hosted the Canadian Masters Athletics Championships in 2013 and we are looking forward to welcoming back athletes for another great experience. We are pleased to be working closely with Excel Athletika, who will host the U12, U14 and U16 Provincials alongside the Masters Championships, which will attract a combined 350 athletes and provide for a multi-generational experience for all participants.

Saskatchewan Master Athletes have hosted two previous Canadian Masters Championships (2008 and 2013) and assisted with a Seniors' 55+ National meet in 2010. The host committee in 2008 was chaired by a local community organizer and volunteers from many sectors. Responses from participants for both events included many saying that Regina hosts the best events in the country.

We are confident that the tremendous support that we have received from government, private sector and local clubs will translate into a successful and memorable Masters Championship experience for athletes, volunteers and spectators alike.

Carol LaFayette-Boyd,

Masters Liaison
