Single half commitments will be considered although preference will be given to those individuals who can commit to the entire games.

Note: Mission staff will likely be asked to arrive in on July 26th and will depart on August 14th the day following the Team Sask departure.

6. All members of the Team Sask Mission Staff will be responsible for the coordination of some other Team Sask related duties prior to and during the Games. These will be in addition to your specific sport assignment(s).

7. Prior to the , Mission Staff will be required to attend several meetings to orient themselves with their roles and responsibilities. Mission staff are also expected to build a relationship with their designated team(s) prior to the games which means attending at least two training, selection or competition events for their sport(s). Please indicate if you will be able to commit to the meetings and events noted above.

8. Duties of Mission Staff require long days (10-12 hours) and can test your sleep, patience, and stamina over a three week period. Do you anticipate a problem with this commitment?

Once selected, all members of the Team Sask Mission Staff will be required to provide a criminal & vulnerable sector record check and proof of a valid driver’s license.

The intent is to finalize the selection of the mission staff by February 1, 2016.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Mission Staff • Act as a liaison between your assigned sport(s) and the Chef de Mission to ensure sport(s) are aware of any and all information regarding the Games; • Attend all pre-games mission/coaches/managers meetings; • Agree to and sign the Team Sask Code of Conduct; • Assist with uniform sizing and distribution; • Assist with requests made by the Team Sask media coordinator regarding team pictures and biographies of athletes, coaches and managers; • Ensure that required forms (registration, medical, media, etc.) are correctly prepared and completed by assigned sport(s) by deadline dates; • Participate in any anti-doping and drug-testing procedures information sessions; • Be aware of and enforce the rules, regulations and policies of the Host Society and Team Sask; • Work assigned shifts on the Mission Desk (if asked); • In cooperation with the Chef de Mission, coaches and managers, help resolve disciplinary issues for assigned sport(s); • At the Games, attend opening and/or closing ceremonies and all other technical meetings, practices and competitions for assigned sport(s); • Assist assigned sport(s) with arrival and departure procedures at the Games; • Assist with other duties in support of Team Sask as assigned; • Participate in a debriefing meeting or complete a feedback questionnaire to evaluate Team Sask’s Mission Operations; • Abide by the rules, regulations and policies of the Games Host Society.

Note: This is a volunteer position; however, Mission Staff get a daily meal per diem while at the Games, transportation to and from the Games is provided, internal transportation (rental car) is provided and shared hotel rooms are covered. A cell phone is provided or a cell phone subsidy is offered if you choose to use your own. Expenses are also covered for attending meetings and events to liaise with your sports/teams prior to the Games.
