To residents: Cllr Shaun Davies Leader & Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services & Pride Southall Road, Aqueduct Programme Cabinet Members’ Office Addenbrooke House Ironmasters Way Telford TF3 4NT Our Ref: Southall Road WP3 (2018/19) Date: 17/07/2018 Improvements in Your Area: Brookside Ward We will shortly be working in your area as part of our ‘Pride in Our Community’ investment programme. Between 2017 and 2019 an additional £45 million is being invested in improving the Borough’s roads, pavements, street lights and structures. This includes the installation of energy efficient street lights and road signs and a programme of road lining improvements. A list of all highway and transport schemes to be delivered in your area over the next 12 months can be found at the end of this letter. We will shortly be resurfacing Southall Road to improve the condition of the highway in this area. The work is due to start on 31st July for two days preparatory works, which will be completed under temporary traffic signals. Resurfacing works will commence on 2nd August for eight working days. The working hours are expected to be between 08:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday throughout the working week, with no work being undertaken over the weekend. Southall Road will be closed to through traffic from the 02nd August with a full diversion route in place at all times. Access will always be available for emergency services and residents, however we kindly request that car movements during working hours are kept to a minimum. A schedule for the traffic management arrangements and construction phasing is detailed below. Residents are advised to reference this table when planning any journey during the construction period. We will be resurfacing the carriageway to improve the condition of the surface. We anticipate the works will commence on 31st July 2018 for ten working days. We will be working between 08:00 – 18:00hrs, to complete these essential works it will be necessary to close the road. Access to properties will be maintained at all times throughout the works but may be restricted for short periods. We will have people on hand to help you get past the working areas safely should you need to do so. Whilst we will endeavour to minimise disruption we ask that you keep vehicle movements to an absolute minimum and not to park on the road. Please also ensure that children are supervised when near the working areas and all pets are kept away from the works.
