Tampere University has three campuses: in the city centre, Hervanta and Kauppi in Tampere. The city centre campus is a hub for education, business and management studies, natural sciences, life sciences, politics, communication, and social sciences. Hervanta campus and the surrounding area constitute a major technology hub and is a main campus for engineering students. The Kauppi campus is located near the Tampere University Hospital and is the home base for medicine and health sciences. Read more: Campuses at Tampere University

Language requirements

The required level of knowledge of English is B2, however, in the Degree Programme in Languages, Specialisation in English Language, the required level of English is C1. For more details and exceptions, please see the How to apply instructions.

Courses and restrictions

Tampere University offers a wide range of study options for incoming exchange students. Some field-specific restrictions may apply, e.g. architecture, medicine, theatre arts. Exchange students can choose courses from different faculties and units according to their own interests if they meet the course prerequisites.

Incoming Erasmus students are expected to select the majority of courses in the subject fields stated in the respective IIAs.
