An LPGA Tour Member may only play in the Symetra event through this category if she is not eligible to gain entry into the LPGA field; unless she is playing a test event per the LPGA Medical Extension Policy. - On an off-week for the LPGA, priority will be given to LPGA Tour Members based on their position on the current year's LPGA Priority List beginning with the 61st player on the list and working downward. 125.     PARRA SETS THE PACE Spain’s Maria Parra has claimed an early lead in the race to earn a place in the European team at this year’s PING Junior Solheim Cup at GC St. Leon-Rot, Germany. The 17 year-old from Sotogrande tops the European Ranking after claiming 30 points while competing in the Spanish International Ladies’ Amateur Championship at Real Club Pineda de Sevilla. Parra reached the semi-final of the first counting event for this year’s European Ranking before losing 3 & 1 to the eventual winner Olivia Cowan from Germany. The Spaniard heads into the second counting event at the French International Lady Juniors Championship with a 20 point advantage over England’s Alice Hewson, Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela and compatriot Maria Herraez Galves who collected 10 points in Sevilla. Belgium’s Diane Baillieux (5 points) and Sweden’s Julia Engström (1 point) were the other two eligible players to collect ranking points in Spain. The Spanish International Ladies’ Amateur Championship was the first of eight counting events on this year’s PING Junior Solheim Cup European Ranking with the first six players on the Ranking at the end of the qualification process all earning an automatic place on the European team for the match at GC St. Leon-Rot on September 14- 15. The team will be completed with six Captain’s picks.     ATHLETES ON THE 2021 “ROAD TO THE LPGA” WILL COMPETE IN 20 EVENTS FOR HIGHEST AVERAGE PURSE IN TOUR HISTORY DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., – The Symetra Tour has released the 2021 “Road to the LPGA” schedule, featuring 20 tournaments and $3.8 million in total purses. Since 2013, average purses have increased by 76% and total purses are up 135%. At an average purse size of $190,000 in 2021, players will compete for more money on a weekly basis than ever before in the 41-year history of the Tour. “We are proud to unveil a schedule that includes six new title sponsors, six new venues and three existing tournaments that have increased their purse,” said Mike Nichols, Chief Business Officer of LPGA Qualifying Tours. “Each year, our two stated goals for the schedule are to improve the quality of the venues for both new and existing tournaments, and to increase the amount of money for which our athletes are competing for each week.     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THE POKAGON BAND OF POTAWATOMI’S 2020 FOUR WINDS INVITATIONAL WILL BE HELD JUNE 12 – 14 The ninth annual tournament will take place at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend SOUTH BEND, Ind. – February 4, 2020 – The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds® Casinos are pleased to announce that the 2020 Four Winds Invitational will be held from Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14 at Blackthorn Golf Club, located at 6100 Nimtz Parkway, South Bend. The ninth annual tournament will feature a field of professional women golfers from around the world competing on the Symetra® Tour – Road to the LPGA®. The 2020 tournament will include 144 golfers who will play for a $150,000 purse. “The Four Winds Invitational has become the premiere summer sporting event in South Bend,” said Matthew Wesaw, Tribal Chairman of the Pokagon Band. “Not only do thousands of people come out each year to watch these talented players compete and earn their way on to the LPGA Tour, but we have generated over $1 million in prize money and raised close to $700,000 for Beacon Children’s Hospital over the past eight years. We look forward to having another successful tournament again this year.” The Four Winds Invitational has proven to be a great place to see some of the future stars of the LPGA Tour. Brooke Henderson, who won the 2015 Four Winds Invitational, went on to become a seven-time LPGA Tour champion. Countless other Four Winds Invitational players have also went on to successful careers on the LPGA Tour, including 2016 champion Jackie Stoelting.
