CP is very proud to celebrate the 6th year as the title sponsor of Canada’s National Women’s Open Golf Championship . The CP Women’s Open continues to attract elite players from around the world, and this year is no exception . We’re thrilled to support our two tournament ambassadors, 2016 Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Lorie Kane and Major LPGA Champion Brooke Henderson, and our 2019 charity ambassador Kyle Hayhoe . A railroad serves as the arteries of a nation; at its heart is community and the people who make up these communities . Through our CP Has Heart program, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to the communities in which we live and operate . We’ve made it our mission to help improve the heart health of everyone in North America – men, women and children – through our strategic partnerships, sponsorships, activities and contributions that aid cardiovascular research and help fund the very best equipment for cardiac patients . For this year’s CP Women’s Open, we’ve partnered with SickKids Foundation . This is a natural partnership as they’re focused on helping young hearts across Ontario . All funds raised through this year’s CP Women’s Open will go towards upgrading a Cardiac Operating Suite at SickKids . During the tournament, all players will have the opportunity to increase the donation total by participating in CP’s Birdies for Heart . Every birdie made on the 17th hole during tournament play, will result in CP donating an additional $5,000 to the charity . Fans can pledge a donation amount or per birdie donation during tournament play and whenever a LPGA Tour player sinks a birdie on the 17th hole, your chosen dollar amount will be donated to SickKids Foundation . CP will match all donations made through Birdies for Heart! For a $20 donation, you can upgrade your tournament ticket to access the 15th & 17th Green CP Fan Zones, exclusive areas where you can watch players make CP Birdies for Heart and enjoy premium seating . On behalf of the over 13,000-strong CP family, I would like to acknowledge Magna Golf Club, Golf Canada and the LPGA, in addition to all the volunteers, sponsors and other stakeholders involved in the event . Your contributions will ensure another successful CP Women’s Open . Thank you for your generosity and for joining us at the 2019 CP Women’s Open . Keith Creel CP President and CEO 2 2019 CP Women’s Open Celebrating the CP Women’s Open The CP Women’s Open has proudly stood as one of the premier events on the LPGA Tour . After a thrilling finish that saw Canadian sensation Brooke Henderson become the first Canadian in 45 years to win our National Open Championship, the next chapter is sure to bring excitement . Golf Canada conducts this championship as a rallying point for golf—an event that allows our most talented players to challenge the world’s best . The championship also allows CP and Golf Canada to leave a legacy within the community through the meaningful CP Has Heart charity program . Under CP’s charitable stewardship, more than $8 .5M has been raised in support of children’s heart health in our host communities and there is great anticipation to see that legacy continue in support of SickKids Foundation in Toronto . To all of the athletes competing this week — thank you for supporting our return to the Greater Toronto Area for the first time in 17 years . My appreciation as well to the membership and staff at Magna Golf Club as well as our proud sponsors and our committed volunteers for their tireless efforts to ensure a successful championship . Finally, a special thank you to the dedicated golf fans across the country that have rallied behind the CP Women’s Open . Their passion for golf has fuelled the success of this championship throughout its storied history .
