Amendment 1 Homestead Tax Exemption for $100,000 - $125,000 of Assessed Value Most Florida homeowners are familiar with homestead exemptions on their property taxes, but let’s quickly review. Once an owner files for homestead exemption through their county’s property appraiser’s office, the first $25,000 of the assessed value is exempt from all taxes. The second homestead exemption applies to the assessed value between $50,000 and $75,000, which is exempted For years, Florida charged a six percent sales tax on business from all taxes, except school district taxes.
