Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine is required to have a governing body, or be part of a parent institution with a governing body, that defines the mission of the COM and/or institution, approves the strategic plan, provides financial oversight, and approves requisite policies. The COM must publish and abide by policies regarding conflict of interest (for board members, employees, and institutionally employed faculty); due process for employees, students, and credentialed instructional staff; confidentiality of employee, student, and medical records; fiscal management; and ethics which must incorporate the American Osteopathic Association Code of Ethics. STILL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES Adopted April 9, 2005 As Amended February 9, 2008, October 11, 2008, May 9, 2009, June 10, 2009, September 25, 2010, May 21, 2011, July 28, 2012, April 20, 2013, January 24, 2014, April 25, 2014, and April 29, 2017, February 1, 2019 ARTICLE I - Name The name of the corporation is A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (University) and the Bylaws hereinafter provided for are Bylaws of the University. The Board of Trustees for the University may authorize by a two-thirds affirmative vote of its membership to have individual unit and/or organizational University Bylaws in addition to those provided for the University, provided the individual unit and/or organizational Bylaws are not in conflict or inconsistent with the Bylaws of the University. ARTICLE II - Mission A.T. Still University of Health Sciences serves as a learning-centered university dedicated to preparing highly competent professionals through innovative academic programs with a commitment to continue its osteopathic heritage and its focus on whole person healthcare, scholarship, community health, interprofessional education, diversity, and underserved populations. ARTICLE III - Principal Office The University shall have and continuously maintain a registered office and registered agent in the State of Missouri. The registered office shall have the same address as the registered agent. The location of the registered office and the name of the registered agent in the State of Missouri shall be such as are stated in the Articles of Incorporation, and as may be changed and determined from time to time by the Board of Trustees pursuant to the applicable provisions of law. ARTICLE IV - Membership The University shall not have members as such, but in lieu thereof, shall have only a Board of Trustees. ATSU Bylaws Page 1 ARTICLE V - Board of Trustees Section 1. Number and Composition. The number of persons constituting the Board of Trustees of the University shall be not less than nine (9) nor more than twenty-one (21), as fixed from time to time by the resolution of said Board. Twenty-five percent or more of the Board shall consist of alumni, reflective of the composition of the schools making up the University and at all times at least one (1) KCOM graduate shall be a trustee of the Board. No employee of the University shall be elected a member of the Board of Trustees. Section 2. Term of Office. All terms of office as a Trustee shall be for three years. No trustee shall serve more than three (3) consecutive terms. After one (1) full year, following expiration of the permitted tenure, eligibility of any former trustee is renewed. Expiration of a term of office shall be at the conclusion of the Summer Meeting in the appropriate year. Section 3. Vacancies. Vacancies on the Board of Trustees, whether caused by the inability of any trustee to serve or the desire to increase the active membership of the Board, may be filled yearly at the Board meeting specified in the Board Governance Policies or a special meeting of the Board. The procedure for filling such vacancies shall be the same as for regular elections as outlined in Section 4, below. Section 4. Nominations and Election. A. Nominations. The chairperson shall appoint a Search Team at the Board meeting specified in Board Governance Policies. The Board will select new Trustees at the Board meeting specified in the Board Governance Policies. Not inconsistent with these Bylaws, the Board Governance Policies may specify additional details regarding the Search Team and its processes. B. Election. All elections shall be by consensus of all trustees present, per the Board Governance policies. C. A trustee of the Board may be removed without cause by consensus of the trustees then in office not being considered for removal at any regular or special meeting called for such purpose. Section 5. Meetings. A. Regular Meetings. Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees shall be held four (4) times during the calendar year, the exact time and date to be determined by consensus, except the Annual Meeting described below shall be held in Kirksville, Missouri. B. Annual Meetings. The last regular meeting of each calendar year shall be referred to as the "Annual Meeting." C. Special Meetings. Special meetings of the Board of Trustees may be held at the call of the president or chairperson and will be called by the president or chairperson at the written request of one- third of the trustees. Section 6. Place of Meetings. The annual meeting shall be held in Kirksville, Missouri. ATSU Bylaws Page 2 Adopted: 04.09.2005 Amended: 02.01.2019 Section 7. Notice of Meetings. A. Regular Meetings. Written or electronic/online notice of regular meetings shall be sent to all trustees not less than 21 days nor more than 40 days prior to the date of the meeting.

    Massachusetts College Immunization Survey Results 2016-2017 The Massachusetts Department of Public Health Immunization Program is pleased to make available the 2016-2017 Massachusetts college immunization survey results by college. Please be aware that the data are limited in a number of ways, including those listed below. • All data are self-reported by colleges and discrepancies may exist. The Immunization Program continues to work with colleges to resolve discrepancies and update immunization data, when possible. • Not all colleges return their survey. Colleges without data due to non-response are indicated (*). • Some colleges returned surveys, however those surveys contained discrepancies leading to mathematically impossible rates. When possible, we work with colleges to resolve data discrepancies. Colleges where rates were withheld due to unresolved discrepancies are indicated (¶). • Data are primarily collected in the fall, but immunization data are often updated throughout the year and rates (during the same school year) may be higher than reported due to additional students receiving immunizations or bringing records to college. Also, the student body is dynamic and as students arrive and leave college, the immunization rates are impacted. • Students are allowed a medical or religious exemption to one or more vaccines. • Students without the required number of doses of vaccine do not necessarily have an exemption on file. • Students without a record of vaccination, but with serologic proof of immunity to certain diseases (measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis b and varicella), meet school entry requirements, and may be counted as vaccinated. College immunization data are presented here in three worksheets. The first worksheet shows immunization rates for all students, the second worksheet shows immunization rates for health science students, and the third worksheet shows meningococcal immunization rates for residential students.

Helbing, AHIP Liaison Librarian, Client Relationship Management Department, Houston, Texas Objectives: Our goal for the English language learners conversation group is to provide international students and staff within our medical center the opportunity to practice English for free in a low-stress environment. We also aim to facilitate networking and cross-institutional collaboration among our international patrons by offering them an informal space in which they can discuss their research interests. Methods: We identified a need in our medical center for programming that supports practice of conversational English. By attending several sessions of a successful ESL conversation group at a nearby organization, we received advice and resources to help us prepare conversation topics and marketing materials for the launch of our own group. We contacted international student services departments at our patron institutions to spread the word and received enthusiastic responses. We launched the program in the fall semester. English language learners meet for one hour every week in a library conference room. At least one librarian facilitator attends each session to lead students through a variety of conversation topics and ice-breaker activities.

    Director, Office of Performing Arts Colleges of the Fenway (COF) is a collaborative effort of five neighboring Boston-based institutions of higher education in the Longwood Medical and Academic area. This collaboration was created to add value to student academic and social life while seeking innovative methods of investing in new services and containing the costs of higher education. The Director, Office of Performing Arts is responsible for the development, organization, management, and promotion of a shared co-curricular performing arts program for students, faculty and staff at the five member institutions: Emmanuel College, MCPHS University, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Simmons University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Currently engaging over 400 participants annually, the program ensembles are open to students, faculty and staff. In this capacity, the Director will continue to develop the vision for the program and work with various campus constituencies to deliver a high-level performing arts program with a primary focus on students. Notable Responsibilities Administration Administer and supervise all operations of COF’s performing arts program, including registration, marketing, space reservations, and promotion for all performing ensembles. Hire and supervise instructional staff for all performing ensembles, including ensemble directors, a shared Assistant Director of COF Dance, student interns, and external musicians as required. Prepare budgets, track expenses and create projections. Organize and meet with the Performing Arts Academic Advisory Committee (PAAAC), which includes faculty representation from each institution. Participate in Student Activities Committee meetings. Submit regular participation, attendance and financial reports as requested. Develop administrative process improvements to enhance office efficiencies. Consult regularly with academic, admissions and student affairs administrators to provide ongoing assessment of institutional and student demand.
