Nas plantas, esses inibidores podem estar presentes em sementes, raízes, folhas, flores e frutos, e exercem importantes funções, podendo atuar na regulação das proteinases endógenas, como proteínas de reserva e na resistência de plantas contra o ataque de insetos e patógenos (Marra et ai., 2009). Considerando a importância desses inibidores proteolíticos para aplicações biotecnológicas e sua elevada concentração na família Fabaceae, o objetivo deste estudo foi detectar a presença de inibidores de serinoproteinases em tecidos foliares de Parkia pendula, Parkia platycephala, Enterolobium schomburgkii, Enterolobium contortisiliquum e Enterolobium maximum. 2. Material e Metõdos Folhas maduras e em bom estado fitossanitário das especies P. pendula, P platycephala, E. schomburgkii, E. contortisiliquum e E. maximum foram secas, moídas e homogeneizadas em solução de NaCI 0,15 M (10% pjv), posteriormente centrifugadas e o sobrenadante submetido à diálise para retirada do sal, resultando no extrato total.
