A town on the central coast of California whose secrets may bring the end of the world. It's too bad, and i Sometimes Koontz is a genius. Want to Read saving…. However, these guys share Koontz's simplistic morality: you know, we could help you and end your problems in ten seconds without breaking a sweat but NAAAAH, we just love how brave and hardworking you are so work your ass off for poor salary while we watch you from our villas and bathe in Don Perignon. I am so bummed that I finished it. To keep those secrets, extremely violent and powerful forces are willing to conceal even the most heinous crimes. Bobby and Chris search the base, but find nothing except a few strange devices and rooms. When I started reading this book I thought it was going to be one that I finished only because I never put down a book once I've started it. The story descended into such dreary time-consuming nonsense towards the end that I convinced myself it couldn't get any worse Flying gargoyles, red skies, living black trees… Over the course of the book, we find out why the children were taken and how it connects up with a serial killer and the strange past of Fort Wyvern. This other beauty, this spiritual beauty—which is the deepest truth of her—sustains me in times of fear and despair, as other truths might sustain a priest enduring martyrdom at the hands of a tyrant. Looking for More Great Reads? Read more Preview — Seize the Night by Dean Koontz. Not my favorite Dean Koontz book; I found myself getting annoyed with all the analyzing the main character does; it seems that every time anything happens, the narrator goes off into another long explanation which is supposed to be him guessing what is going on and philosophizing about what it all means, etc. Or he might not be interested in me at all. They are boring as hell. Bromances are my favorite and this one was great. I didn't feel like I was missing a back story, but I will read Fear Nothing …more I read it last night not knowing it was a sequel and it was a great read. From there on out, the book remains intense and lets up only rarely. Welcome back. Jun 17, Holly rated it it was amazing Shelves: dean-koontz. Trivia About Seize the Night Acknowledged as "America's most popular suspense novelist" Rolling Stone and as one of today's most celebrated and successful writers, Dean Ray Koontz has earned the devotion of millions of readers around the world and the praise of critics everywhere for tales of character, mystery, and adventure that strike to the core of what it means to be human. The side of a nose. Probably the three least assuming heroes I've ever read about. This novel is about a man named Christopher Snow who has XP. Those who meet him for the first time in Seize the Night will soon join millions of others whose imaginations have been touched by this unique character and the extraordinary, eerie world of Moonlight Bay. Christopher Snow. There closeness comes through really well here, building on what we had already seen in Fear Nothing. And quicker? There is not really a need to read fear nothing first unless you want to as Dean Koontz explains everything that happened in the first book when the reader needs to know p Dean Koontz is a five star writter, no doubt about that when it comes to his stories they are usually top notch and Sieze the night is no exception. And how about letting the reader do some of the thinking? Now, it's not enough to state boldly that this is a sequel I was not prepared for so many weird and chaotic motives. The Door to December. In case you're too stupid to understand Snow's uncertainity, you've got a whole foocking page explaining that to you. Average rating 4. Christopher Snow isn't afraid of the dark. There's absolutely no subtlety or suggestion, everything is spelled out, and to make matters worse what could be spelled out in one word is spelled in twenty. Absolute insanity from start to finish and I wouldn't have it any other way. It was about pages in to Fear Nothing that the true story began and the real insanity started. This is a great follow up to Fear Nothing. Of course the quest begins and ends at Fort Wyvern. There are no rules in the dark, no place to feel safe, no escape from the shadows. Time travel is always interesting, and we get a small bite of that here. Audio Cassette , Unabridged , 12 pages. But now, somewhere in the night, children are disappearing. Aside from that, the book is a solid mystery about the disappearance of several children. This novel is about a man named Christopher Snow who has XP. Start your review of Seize the Night Moonlight Bay, 2. But to save the day, you must seize the night. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it's been 11 years since its publication and there's still no sign of the third novel on the horizon, despite Koontz nearing the completion of two other series he started in the meantime. Because in Moonlight Bay, the police work their hardest to conceal crimes and silence victims. Speaking of the plot, Koontz basically recaps Fear Nothing in case you haven't read it during the first pages or so. Once the story got going, though, WOW! Also, the characters didn't seem real to me. With his small and once peaceful town of Moonlight Bay becoming more and more strange, Chris is afraid to go to the police, not knowing if they are in on the kidnapping. The ending sort of boggled my mind. More Details Refresh and try again. I got lost in the uninteresting meanderings of the author and his, all too detailed, descriptions. After leaving, they stop by Lilly's house. For the Meat Loaf tour, see Seize the Night tour. Error rating book. Koontz went to great pains to convince the reader how rich Snows is, and his friends for that matter. Added by 98 of our members. The book gets exciting right out of the gate, with dark wanderings in old buildings, troupes of killer monkeys, strange deaths, and the a fight in the night. Sasha and Chris head to their place, while Bobby heads off to Lilly's mother-in-law Jenna, to bring her back to Lilly's. At no time does Moonlight Bay look more beautiful than at night. Also by Dean Koontz. Related Articles. Seize the Night Reviews Of course he doesn't or the book would end there. Seize The Night is Dean Koontz at his worst and most overblown, packed with idioticisms and stupidities, a work so overwritten and drawn out that it reads almost like a parody of books he used to write. I like the idea of having characters who do selfless acts for others, etc. There is not really a need to read fear nothing first unless you want to as Dean Koontz explains everything that happened in the first book when the reader needs to know perfectly, just as he explains all crazy science stuff in a way even i could understand. Bromances are my favorite and this one was great. Available from:. A continuation of Fear Nothing.
