7 ALL PM G-ROTOR PUMPS PM COMPACTION

The common pump design con- siders a mix of different materi- als. Due to different expansion factors of each material, this ends up with some perfomance drop in case of temperature va- riations during the real driving cycle of a vehicle.

14 ROLLER FINGER FOLLOWER MIM TECHNOLOGY

The ‘roller finger follower’ is an excellent example of how Me- tal Injection Moulding (MIM) design can integrate a variety of functions in a single com- ponent.

This part is used in the valve train of passenger as part of a system that is capable of shutting off a cylin- der while the engine is running. Due to the high strength of the heat treated steel a lightweight design can be achieved.
