HERTFORDSHIRE BRANCH At the Branch AGM on 21 September 1975 members heard a talk by the Association's General Secretary on multipurpose use of the waterways. In the interesting, and, at times, somewhat heated discusssion that followed the Angling interest was epresented by Mr E.J. Mercer and John Craig spoke for the Ramblers Association. A canoe club representative was unable to attend but Dick Trevethie represented the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority and Stan Boyce, the Area section engineer, Gayton, gave an insight into the problems imposed upon BWB by the conflicting demands of various waterway users. John Taunton made a reference to this discuss- ion in a recent Bulletin article. The meeting was felt to be stimulating and thought-provoking — many members expressed the need for an initiative to be made for more consultation and harmony between the various types of user of the water- ways. New members of the Committee elected at the meeting were: Roger Hudspith, 39 Porters Close, Buntingford, Herts (Structural Conservation and Membership) Graham Banks, 8 Wren Wood, Welwyn Garden City (Working Party Organiser) Bill Hayes-Allen, McTench's Dockyard, Rye House, Hoddesdon (Entertainment) An informal photographic exhhibition of members' slides and photographs was held in September and a high standard of work was displayed. Members were grateful for the arrangements made by Bernard Dean for a successful evening. Future meetings Meetings are normally held on the last Wednesday of each month at The Bull public house, Stanborough, Welwyn, Herts. — just 100 yards from the Al(M) north of Hatfield:
