New Music for Fall & Christmas 3 CDs ENCLOSED NEW MUSIC FOR FALL & CHRISTMAS 2011 Also featuring selections from: BROOKFIELD PRESS DAYBREAK MUSIC AND MOre… NEW MUSIC FOR FALL & CHRISTMAS 2011 Worship DEAR FRIENDS, Songs Welcome to the Fall/Christmas 2011 edition of Worship Songs. Contained in this promotion are the new releases from Shawnee Press, GlorySound, Harold Flammer music, Mark Foster music, Hal Leonard, Daybreak Music, Brookfield Press, and Fred Bock Music. Bringing a great diversity of styles and difficulty levels, we hope that Worship Songs will connect you with important resources for your church and community choirs. Highlights include: • A new Celtic-styled Christmas cantata, Tapestry of Light. With two voicing options (SATB and SAB), the cantata also offers two orchestrations–a full orchestra for larger groups or a celtic consort version for only five instruments. • A new children’s musical from Jill and Michael Gallina, Silent Mice, Holy Mice, tells a whimsical story based on the legend of how “Silent Night” was composed. • One of my personal favorites is Heather Sorenson’s Raise Your Hands. This anthem is truly special and destined to touch many hearts with its inspiring message of worship and praise. • A special section of music appropriate for observing the 10th anniversary of the September 11th tragedy. • A new holiday piano collection from Philip Kern—Star of Wonder, Star of Night. A great gift idea for your church pianist. • From the Mark Foster catalog, a new set of seasonal carols by famed commercial music composer, Terry Esau. • A sensitive Christmas Eve candlelight and communion composition by John Purifoy, A Communion of Carols. • Rock Album Discography Last Up-Date: September 27Th, 2021
Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
