LIVING GOD’S STORY, FOLLOWING CHRIST TOGETHER We believe that worship is a great place to connect with Jesus’ promises and reconnect with people we haven’t seen through the week. We believe life is like a LIVING WORD story that is constantly unfolding with every passing event. We pray that through Lutheran Church Missouri Synod this worship service you are able to see LIVING WORD how God’s story overlaps your story. Lutheran Church Missouri Synod NEW HERE? WELCOME What to expect. The worship completely printed for you. It will also be projected on the screens overhead in the sanctuary. The first and third Sundays follow a liturgical style of worhsip and the second, fourth and fifth Sundays are contemporary, and informal worship on Wednesday evenings. If you have children, we want you to know that we value family and families worshiping together. If we can assist you and your family during worship let one of the ushers know. Offering Please do not feel obligated to participate in the offering. The offering is for members and regular attendees who consider Living Word their church home. For our members, we have currently suspended passing an offering plate but have four ways to give; mail a check, online at the LW website, on the LW app (click the “more” tab, then click “give”), text GIVELW to 888.364.give. Communion We celebrate communion every Sunday. This is a celebration of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. We believe that Jesus is really present in communion. The bread is his body, and the wine is his blood. If you are unsure about communion, please talk to Pastor Derrick. If you desire communion but cannot come forward, let an usher know and we’ll bring it to you. White grape juice is provided in the center of the trays for those who cannot have wine. We’re just glad you’re here. We hope that this time is one that is fulfilling and that draws you closer to Christ. At the conclusion of our worship service, we have a gift for you. Just stop and see Pastor Derrick on the way out! Blessings on your worship. We have gathered to sing these songs Old Testament Reading - Job 38:4-18 Wretched sinners and desperate frauds, Fully covered in Jesus’ blood 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have Free to worship the three in one, Free to worship the three in one understanding. 5 Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or Chorus Holy is the Lord, Holy is the Lord, Almighty who stretched the line upon it? 6 On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its Holy is the Lord, our mighty God cornerstone, 7 when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God We have gathered to sing these songs shouted for joy? Sons and daughters of every tongue, Bound together in Jesus’ blood 8 “Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb, Free to worship the three in one, Free to worship the three in one (chorus) 9 when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, The curtain was torn through We stand before you 10 and prescribed limits for it and set bars and doors, 11 and said, ‘Thus far And mercy is all you speak (chorus) shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed’? Free to Worship, words & music by Kip Fox copyright 2013 Wilt Creative Music ccli #6318781 12 “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place, 13 that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth, and You Are My All In All the wicked be shaken out of it? 14 It is changed like clay under the seal, and its You are my strength, When I am weak, features stand out like a garment. 15 From the wicked their light is withheld, and You are the treasure, That I seek, You are my all in all their uplifted arm is broken. 16 “Have you entered into the springs of the sea, or Seeking You as a precious jew’l, walked in the recesses of the deep? 17 Have the gates of death been revealed Lord to give up I’d be a fool, You are my all in all to you, or have you seen the gates of deep darkness? Chorus Jesus Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name 18 Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth? Declare, Jesus Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name if you know all this. New Testament Reading - Romans 10:5-17 Sermon Song 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, Reign In Us that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. 6 But the You thought of us before the world began to breathe righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend And You knew our names before we came to be into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 “or ‘Who will descend into the You saw the very day we’d fall away from You abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? And how desp’rately we need to be redeemed “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of Lord Jesus come lead us, We’re desp’rate for Your touch 9 faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Chorus Oh great and mighty One, With one desire we come Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be That You would reign, That You would reign in us 10 saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth We’re off’ring up our lives, A living sacrifice 11 one confesses and is saved.
