Acc.7445 August 2013 Inventory Acc.7445 Papers of the late Charles D'Orville Pilkington Jackson Esq, ARSA, FRBS, FRSA National Library of Scotland Manuscripts Division George IV Bridge Edinburgh EH1 1EW Tel: 0131-466 2812 Fax: 0131-466 2811 E-mail: [email protected] © Trustees of the National Library of Scotland Presented to the National Library of Scotland in 1979 by his Trustees, through Mrs A E O’B Pilkington Jackson GENERAL NOTES These papers came from the sculptor‟s studio. In general each file refers to a specific job. However, sometimes several jobs were put together in one file, and some files were found to be missing altogether. Consequently the filing system is incomplete. Where possible missing job titles have been supplied by using the catalogue of works compiled by Pilkington Jackson‟s second wife Audrey (See Box 47). The titles of these missing files appear in square brackets. In a few cases where the file number is missing, there exists a photograph of the work in Acc 8542. This indicated in the „contents‟ column by a number 6. When researching a specific work, it may be valuable to read through files pertaining to works from the same time period. Correspondence with, for example, suppliers may refer to more than one job, and so information on a particular work may well be found in more than one file. NOTATION [IN ‘CONTENTS’ COLUMN] 1.
