Page 6, Sec. 2 THE REGISTER, DENVER ARCHPIOCESAN EDITIONThur^day^anuary 30, Special Class Teaches Faith To Handicapped The Archdiocesan Religious Education Office cruiting both students and teachers for its expanding special education classes now being conducted at six centers in metropolitan Denver and two in Colorado Springs. The classes are special courses for both the mentally retarded and the hearing handicapped. Sister Suzanne Giblin of the Religious Education Office said the staff feels many children who could benefit from the program are not being reached because parents are unaware of it. Religious education for the handicapped is not new, :'i\l but has been expanded substantially in the archdiocese this year. Of the six programs in op>eration in the Den ver area, four are new in 1968-69. SISTE R Suzanne said a special teacher training pro gram to develop more instructors for the program will be held this spring. Enrollment is expected to increase ) > greatly as more parents learn of the classes, she said, and more teachers will be needed to handle them.
