McLachlan Dorothy Jean Jackson FRES FLS (1892-1973) should be familiar to anyone interested in water beetles. She published prolifically on the ecology, distribution, flight capacity, and parasites of water beetles, and made especially important contributions to our knowledge of dytiscids. Lees (1974) provided a very brief and somewhat accurate obituary. I am currently preparing a more comprehensive biography of her and would be grateful to receive any notes or anecdotes from those that knew or met her. Foster (1991), at the request of the late Hans Schaeflein, was the first effort in putting together a publication list. Here I provide a more extensive bibliography of her work that is almost certainly incomplete, but I think includes most of her scientific output between 1907 and 1973. -
New Genera and Species of Afrotropical Entedoninae (Hymenoptera, Eulophidae)
New genera and species of Afrotropical Entedoninae (Hymenoptera, Eulophidae) A. Gumovsky, Z. Boucˇek & G. Delvare Gumovsky, A., Boucˇek, Z. & Delvare, G. New genera and species of Afrotropical Entedoninae (Hy- menoptera, Eulophidae). Zool. Med. Leiden 80-1 (4), 10.iii.2006: 73-85, fi gs 1-26.— ISSN 0024-0672. Key words: Hymenoptera; Eulophidae; Entedoninae; Afrotropical region; propodeum; new genera; new species. Two new genera of Entedoninae are described from Afrotropical region. The genus Janicharis gen. nov. (type species: J. africana spec. nov.) is described from Cameroon, Nigeria and Madagascar. The genus Hakuna gen. nov. (type species: H. matata spec. nov.) is described from Uganda. Both genera have a rather characteristic habitus and a peculiar propodeum bearing large anterolateral strips. A new, but yet unnamed, species of the genus Trisecodes Delvare & LaSalle, 2000, is recorded from Cameroon. This is the fi rst Afrotropical record of this genus, originally described from the Neotropical region. Introduction Afrotropical and Malagasy Entedoninae are probably the least studied group with- in the family Eulophidae. They include only 107 of almost 1200 species known world- wide so far. Compared to this, 603 entedonines are known from the Holarctic region, 239 from the Neotropics and more than 300 from the Indo-Pacifi c area (Noyes, 2001, 2003). -
ABSTRACT Description of new animal species from the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands (1978-1994): Taxonomic trends and systematic list During the period 1978-1994 about 2.000 new animal species have been described in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. A complete list of these new species for 1978-1993, taxonomically arranged, and their bibliographic references is given in an appendix. -

Journal of Hymenoptera Research 51: 101–158. doi: 10.3897/jhr.51.9296 Abstract The Swedish entomologist, Karl-Johan Hedqvist (1917–2009) described 261 species of insects, 260 spe- cies of Hymenoptera and one of Coleoptera, plus 72 genera and a small number of family-level taxa. These taxa are catalogued and the current depositories of the types are listed, as well as some brief notes on the history of the Hedqvist collection. We also discuss some issues that can arise when type-rich specimen collections are put on the commercial market. Keywords Chalcidoidea, Pteromalidae, Braconidae, Type catalogue Introduction Karl-Johan Hedqvist (1917–2009) was a well-known Swedish hymenopterist who published a large body of work in applied entomology, faunistics and systematics, with a special focus on Chalcidoidea (particularly Pteromalidae), but also dealing with all major groups of parasitoid Hymenoptera. -

YEFREMOVA1 Hasan S. CİVELEK2* Peter S. BOYADZHIEV3 Oktay DURSUN2 Ata ESKİN2 Summary This study was carried out to determine Eulophidae species, they have economical important for biological control, collected in various habitats in 2000 and between 2006-2008 in some provinces of Turkey. Specimens were collected with swepping net and reared materials especially on Agromyzidae leafminer species (Diptera: Agromyzidae). By identifying of the specimens, 23 species of 8 genera were determined in different localities. Of these species, 8 are new records for Turkish Eulophidae fauna. These species are: Dicladocerus westwoodi Westwood, 1832, Pnigalio nemati (Westwood, 1838), Chrysocharis pubens Delucchi, 1958, Neochrysocharis aratus (Walker, 1838), Pediobius brachycerus (Thomson, 1878), P. eubius (Walker, 1839), P. flaviscapus (Thomson, 1878), Sympiesis viridula (Thomson, 1878). With this study, the number of Turkish eulophid species were updated to 199 species that was previously 189 species. Key words: Eulophidae, new records, Turkey Anahtar sözcükler: Eulophidae, yeni kayıt, Türkiye Introduction The Eulophidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) is one of the most diverse families of parasitoids wasps, currently containing 294 genera and 4288 species (Noyes, 2002). African Invertebrates 59(1): 25–35. https://doi. org/10.3897/AfrInvertebr.59.22269 Abstract Cis mooihoekite sp. n. is described based on specimens collected at two localities in the province of Mpu- malanga, South Africa. The new species is included in the Cis bilamellatus species-group, which comprises species with a single plate on both anterocephalic edge and anterior pronotal edge in males, females with pronotum usually widest near the posterior end and gradually narrowing anteriorly and both sexes with dual elytral vestiture. Cis mooihoekite sp. n. can be distinguished from the other South African species in the group by the pronotum devoid of a median impunctate line, pronotal plate angularly emarginate forming two small and triangular horns with acute apex and anterocephalic edge with very acute corners.
