На протяжении этого 15-летия была развита многосторонняя между- народная деятельность, которая, кроме другого, выдвинула православ- ные ценности и традиции в международном пространстве парламента- ризма, внесла свой вклад в развитие межрелигиозного диалога, который помог взаимопониманию, в основном при «урегулировании кризисов». Множество мероприятий, визитов и решений Генеральной Ассамб- леи МАП по текущим политическим и общим вопросам, являются соста- вляющими этой 15-летней деятельности, которая зафиксирована в 10 ин- формационных ежегодных бюллетенях, изданных до настоящего момента. Параллельно МАП научными конференциями и круглыми столами, также как и своей издательской деятельностью, сделала ощутимым свое присутствие не только в православном мире, но и за его пределами. Связи, которые были установлены с Европейским Парламентом, Ев- ропейской Комиссией, Всемирным Советом Церквей, Советом Европей- ских Церквей, Межпарламентским Союзом, Парламентским Союзом ОИК (ПС ОИК) и другими международными организациями и органами и, в ос- новном, с парламентами стран-членов МАП, а также с Автокефальными Православными Церквами, выдвинули ее как межпарламентскую орга- низацию диалога и политического взаимопонимания. Деятельность, раз- витая до сегодняшнего дня, является гарантией для ее дальнейшего про- должения. Социальная, политическая и экономическая реорганизации, осозна- ние глобализации, заставляют больше, чем в другие времена, анализиро- вать события, на основе принципов, которыми руководствуется МАП. Всеобщая политическая реорганизация и перемены - продукт нацио- нальных выборов в странах-членах МАП - в итоге привели к изменению состава парламентских делегаций нашей Ассамблеи. МАП в новом составе обязуется продолжить свою 15-летнюю удачную деятельность и нацелиться на расширение, руководствуясь жизненными постулатами Апостола Павла, которому посвящен текущий год. МАП выражает глубокую признательность Предстоятелю Кипрской Православной Церкви Архиепископу Хризостому II в связи с финан- сированием издания информационного бюллетеня, который вы держите в руках. Apostle Paul, Design in mosaic, Chora Church, Constantinople (12th c.). 3 Εισαγωγικό σημείωμα Το έτος 2008 χαρακτηρίζεται ως επετειακό, για την Διακοινοβουλευτική Συνέλευση Ορθοδοξίας, δεδομένου ότι συμπληρώνονται 15 χρόνια από την ίδρυσή της. Κατά την 15ετία αυτή αναπτύχθηκε πολύπλευρη διεθνής δραστηριότητα, η οποία εκτός του ότι προέβαλε τις ορθόδοξες αξίες και παραδόσεις στον διεθνή κοινοβουλευτικό χώρο, συνέβαλε επιπλέον στην ανάπτυξη του διαθρησκειακού διαλόγου, ο οποίος εβοήθησε στην αλληλοκατανόηση, κυρίως στις περιπτώσεις «διευθέτησης κρίσεων». Πλήθος εκδηλώσεων, επισκέψεων αλλά και αποφάσεων της Γενικής Συνέλευσης της Δ.Σ.Ο. για τα τρέχοντα κατά περίπτωση πολιτικά αλλά και γενικότερα ζητήματα, συνθέτουν αυτήν την 15ετή δραστηριότητα, η οποία κατ’ έτος καταγράφηκε στα 10 ενημερωτικά δελτία, που εκδόθηκαν μέχρι σήμερα. Παράλληλα, η Δ.Σ.Ο., με τις επιστημονικές ημερίδες, και τα συνέδρια που οργάνωσε καθώς και με το εκδοτικό έργο της, έκανε αισθητή την παρουσία της όχι μόνο στον Χριστιανικό Ορθόδοξο χώρο αλλά και πέραν αυτού. Οι σχέσεις που αναπτύχθηκαν με το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο, την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή, το Παγκόσμιο Συμβούλιο Εκκλησιών, το Συμβούλιο των Ευρωπαϊκών Εκκλησιών, την Κοινοβουλευτική Ένωση του Οργανισμού των Κρατών-Μελών της Ισλαμικής Διάσκεψης (Κ.Ε.Ι.Δ.), και με άλλους διεθνείς οργανισμούς και οργανώσεις, αλλά κυρίως με τα κοινοβούλια των κρατών – μελών της Δ.Σ.Ο. καθώς και με όλες τις Αυτοκέφαλες Ορθόδοξες Εκκλησίες, την ανέδειξαν ως διακοινοβουλευτική οργάνωση διαλόγου και πολιτικής αλληλοκατανόησης.     Monday, 5 May 2014 Issue No: 4648 PM Samaras: Greece is breaking its chains with the past Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has said in an article published in Sunday’s edition “To Vima” newspaper that a new Greece is emerging by breaking its "shell" and its chains with the past. The premier refers to inherent problems of the past which kept Greece back to “old-fashioned mentalities and distortions, which maintained a false growth on borrowed money,” adding that a “shell” had been obstructing the country to move forward. ”This shell is now breaking. And the country and people’s great abilities are being released,” the premier stresses, launching an attack on those forces which, as he puts it, are still fiercely resisting because they do not want Greece to move ahead to the future. Samaras said that the main opposition SYRIZA party wanted Greece to return to the crisis that is now being left behind, and to see the country in an instable condition, internationally isolated and divided. The premier charged SYRIZA of making efforts to exert ideological terrorism and divide the society, as “they are trying to ethically castigate as ‘extreme right’ or ‘neo-liberal’ all views which are opposed to theirs.” NERIT broadcaster starting programme as of 18:00 on Sunday The New Greek Radio, Internet and Television (NERIT) broadcaster started its programme as of 18:00 on Sunday with a new news bulletin, a Greek and a foreign film and a sports programme. According to NERIT's president, about 11 months after the closure of the ERT broadcaster and the transitional Public Television channel the countdown will begin shortly before 18:00 with a "modest ceremony".

Introduction This note aims at summarising the present political and economic situation in Greece. It includes an overview of the Greek political system (the separation of powers, a description of the main political parties and information on the latest and previous parliamentary elections). The economic section comprises Eurostat's analysis of Greek statistical data and recent indicators concerning Greece's economy and its debt crisis. Annexes included: Annex A- Chronology of the Debt crisis, Annex B- Information on the Greek National budget and swap transfers, Annex C- Greece's agricultural expenses and the problems with the IACS system. 2. Overview of the Greek political system Greece is a parliamentary republic. Its current President is Karolos Papoulias, who has been elected for a five-year term. The President of the Hellenic Republic is elected by the parliament for a maximum of two terms in office. When a presidential term expires, the parliament votes to elect a new president for Greece. The country's constitution provides for a separation of powers between executive, legislative and judicial responsibilities. The executive power is exercised by the President and the Government of the Republic. Following the 4th October 2009 general elections, Georges Papandreou, the leader of the Pan-Hellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK), formed a government, which was sworn in on 7th October. He won 160 out of 300 seats in the parliament. The new cabinet is composed of fewer ministers than in the past and responsibilities were modified (the posts of the Vice- President, the Ministry for Economy and Finance, some regional ministries, the Ministry for Transport and Communications, the General Secretariats of Public Order and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism).
