THE BEACHES Jacksonville residents have the best of both worlds. Residents have all the amenities of a big city while also having the luxury of three beach communities. Luis Torres, who has more than two decades of coaching experience, enters his fourth season with the University of North Florida women’s soccer pro- gram. Torres serves as the director for soccer operations and oversees the internal operations of the UNF soccer program. He is involved in the day-to-day opera- tions of the team including budgetary matters, team travel, on-campus housing and dining contracts. In addition, Torres is responsible for non-conference scheduling and works with the conference office to coordinate the Ospreys’ A-Sun schedule. Torres played at the University of Arizona (1983-86) and moved directly into a professional coaching career beginning at the age of 23. During his 21 years as a coach, the Milwaukee, Wisc. native has led numerous programs including the U-17 Ponte Vedra Storm, who he guided to the 2009 Florida State Cup Championship, Region III Championship and was a National finalist finish. He also served a stint assisting with the Puerto Rican Women’s National Team. Torres holds his USSF “C” coaching license and also earned a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma. In addition, Torres is the founder and director of the American International Soccer Academy.

After earning his master’s degree and serving as 1988-96 Marshall a graduate assistant coach for the Virginia football Director of Athletics team during the 1972 and 1973 seasons, Moon served as an assistant football coach at Duke (1973- 1996-03 Wyoming 76), Virginia (1976-1981), Mississippi State (1982- Director of Athletics 1984) and Kansas State (1985), where he was named the interim head football coach and also served as 2004-08 UAB the assistant director of operations for the football Senior Associate Athletics Director team. Throughout his career, Moon has served on various NCAA leadership committees such as the 2009-present North Florida Division I Athletic Directors Association Executive Director of Athletics Committee, the NCAA Football Issues Committee, as well as serving as chair of the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Committee. Moon succeeded Dr. Richard Gropper, who has served as the UNF Director of Athletics since the
