Liberty Invitational History This weekend’s tournament will be the 16th time Liberty has hosted an in-season invitational. The Lady Flames are 33-15 (.688) all-time at home invitationals. The Lady Flames posted a perfect 3-0 record over UNCG, Hampton and Howard to win the 2015 Liberty Invitational. Jade Vorster was named tournament MVP, and was joined on the all-tournament team by Caroline Douglas and Anna Willey. Pinder’s first collegiate coaching win came Sept. 17, 2004, in his first home match as head coach at Liberty, a 3-0 win over Davidson, the first match of the Liberty Invitational.

Lady Flames Earn Postseason Honors Last season, redshirt seniors Caroline Douglas and Jade Vorster were named to the Big South All-Conference first team, while sophomore Anna Willey received all-confer- ence honorable mention and Margaret Latchford was voted to the All-Freshman team. Douglas is the second player in program history to be named first team all-conference three times, joining only Anthonia Akpama (four times, 1996-99). Vorster has been voted all-conference all four years of her career (twice All-Big West, twice All-Big South). Jade Vorster was named to the VaSID All-State University Division Volleyball first team, while Douglas and Latchford were voted to the second team.
