The transformation will take place in 2007 and will focus on the dynamic City of Uppsala, Sweden's fourth largest city, just 70 km northwest of downtown Stockholm. Plans are already at an advanced stage to launch the region's first totally low-cost orientated airport just north of the city, a 'no marble' development geared specifically to the needs of low-cost carriers and their passengers. Its modern infrastructure will perfectly complement LCC activity, costs will be the lowest anywhere in Sweden and its clear location advantages will enable passengers to reach the enduringly fascinating Swedish capital in less than an hour.
