Explain with examples the concept, definition, fundamental qualities of news b. Understand the Desk Job in Journalistic Profession, editing and layout designing c. Understand reporting and writing skills, d. Explain the Production, Organizational Structures and Functions of various media houses Unit 0: Baseline Analysis- Course Objectives, characteristics, qualities, types, various headlines of news, interview skills, reporting skills, editing skills and functions and history of media organization and structures. Unit I: Management. a. Fayol’s Principles of Management b. Ownership patterns of media organizations c. FDI in Indian media.

Unit II: Organizations. a. Introduction to media houses: Times group, group, Pioneer group, Express group, Hindu Group, India Today group, Bhaskar group, Jagran group, Sahara group, Tribune group, Manorama group, Enadu group, Aanand Bazar Patrika Group, group. Zee networks, Star India, NDTV group, Enadu Group, Sun Network, TV18 group. Unit III: Organizational Structure. a. Structure and functioning of radio and television channel b. Role of editorial, technical, marketing and HR sections c. Media Policies d. Media marketing techniques - Ad collection and corporate strategies, Space and time selling.
