2018 VIRGIN AUSTRALIA SUPERCARS CHAMPIONSHIP – RACE 24 CAMS PERMIT NUMBER: 818/1609/01 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS FOR SUPERCARS STANDARD REQUIREMENTS 1.1 EVENT TITLE, DATE & VENUE 1.1.1 The Event will be known as the “RABBLE.club Sandown 500” (hereinafter referred to as “the Event”) which will also comprise race 24 of the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship (“the VCS”), and be held at Sandown International Motor Raceway, Sandown, Victoria on 14th – 16th September 2018. 1.2 ORGANISATION & STATUS 1.2.1 The Event will be held under the International Sporting Code including Appendices of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the Supercars Operations Manual (“the Rules”), and any applicable National Competition Rules of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd (CAMS) which are not in conflict with the Rules, the Supplementary Regulations, any Further Supplementary Regulations or instructions and any Bulletins issued. 1.2.2 Event Status: Restricted International. 1.3 ADMINISTRATION & EVENT STAFF 1.3.1 ASN: Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd PO Box 147, Caulfield East, VIC, 3145 Telephone: (03) 9593 7777, Facsimile: (03) 9593 7700 1.3.2 Promoter: V8 Supercars Australia Pty Ltd - Events PO Box 607, Southport BC, Queensland, 4215 Telephone: (07) 5630 0364. (6) Weigh Station: Frank Adamson, David Stuart. 1.4.15 Media Manager: Cole Hitchcock 1.5 CIRCUIT DETAILS 1.5.1 Track Length: 3.1 kilometres 1.5.2 Direction: Anti-Clockwise 1.5.3 Track Density: Supercars – 32 1.5.4 Notice Board: Located outside the office of the Secretary of the Event on the ground floor of the Race Control Building, in the middle of Pit Lane. 1.5.5 Stewards Office: Located in a demountable building behind Race Control. 1.5.6 DRD Office: Located in a demountable building behind Race Control. 1.5.7 Control Line: Located at the Finish Line and across Pit Exit. ADMINISTRATION 2.1 ENTRIES 2.1.1 Competitors must have completed the 2018 Supercars Entry Registration Form. 2.1.2 Administration checking will commence at 0830hrs (AEST) on Thursday 13th September 2018. 2.1.3 Any Competitors that need to change or add any details contained in their 2018 Entry Registration Form must do so at the Supercars Operations Transporter prior to the commencement of the Competitor’s Authorised Representatives Briefing on Thursday 13th September 2018. 2.1.4 No change of Drivers will be accepted later than 1730hrs (AEST) on Thursday 13th September 2018 unless exceptional circumstances, as determined by the Stewards, warrant a change after that time. 2.1.5 Any Entry that has cross entered Drivers, must nominate their final Car pairing prior to 1800hrs (AEST) on Friday 14th September 2018. 2.2 ACCREDITATION CARDS (PASSES) & TEAM PARKING 2.2.1 The Series Accreditation Cards will be recognised by the Organisers. 2.2.2 Accreditation will be required from Friday 14th September 2018. 2.2.3 Each entry will be allocated 4 VIP car parking passes to park in the VIP/Teams car park located on Racecourse Drive. All other Team vehicles will be permitted to park in the general car park. 2.2.4 No vehicles are permitted in the paddock after 0800hrs (AEST) Wednesday 12th September 2018. All deliveries must be completed outside of the Event Operating hours as listed in Supplementary Regulation 8.1.1. Cars with this pass must park in the general car park. 2.3 ACCREDITATION CENTRE OPENING HOURS 2.3.1 The Accreditation centre is located at Gate 2 on Racecourse Drive. 2.3.2 The Accreditation centre will be open at the following times: 2.3.2.1 Thursday 13th September 0900 - 1700 2.3.2.2 Friday 14th September 0630 - 1745 2.3.2.3 Saturday 15th September 0630 - 1700 2.3.2.4 Sunday 16th September 0700 - 1600 TECHNICAL 3.1 SCRUTINEERING 3.1.1 Scrutineering will commence at 0830hrs (AEST) on Friday 14th September 2018. 3.2 MINIMUM WEIGHT 3.2.1 In accordance with the requirements of Rule C4.1.1, all additional Drivers that have not competed in a race of the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, will be required for weighing by Supercars Officials at 1030hrs on Friday 14th September 2018, in the scales garage. 3.3 FRONT BRAKE DISCS 3.3.1 Refer to the below updated Schedule C1–5 Brake System and note the new Front Brake Disc and Brake Bobbin, which are mandatory at this Event: 5. Entry is via the green walkway at the rear. 4.3.2 A briefing for all Competitors and Drivers will be held at 1800hrs (AEST) on Friday 14th September 2018 in the in the Vintage Room, located on the 1st floor of the northern end of the grandstand. Entry is via the green walkway at the rear. 4.4 TYRE FITTING, ALLOCATION AND USAGE 4.4.1 Control tyre fitting will commence from 0900hrs (AEST) on Thursday 13th September 2018 in the Dunlop facility located in the Supercars paddock. 4.5 PIT STRAIGHT SIGNALLING AREA 4.5.1 A restricted area has been established along the signalling wall area due to a lack of Debris Fencing on the signalling guard rail. Please refer to the attached diagram. 4.5.2 Should a Team have a Car/pit radio failure, the Team must seek the prior approval of the S&TD for a maximum of two (2) Team members to access the area for signalling only. Please refer to the attached diagram. 4.5.3 Teams will be permitted to stand along the signalling guard rail in the restricted area at the end of the race in accordance with Rule D11.5.1. 4.6 PRACTICE 4.6.1 All Drivers are permitted to drive in practice 2 and 4. 4.6.2 Only additional Drivers are permitted to drive in practice 1 and 3. 4.7 RACE FOR THE GRID 4.7.1 Only additional Drivers are permitted to drive in Race for the Grid 1. 4.7.2 Only Primary Drivers are permitted to drive in Race for the Grid 2. 4.8 START PROCEDURE 4.8.1 All Cars exiting Pit Lane prior to the start of a Race must have their Pit Lane speed limiter activated until the Car has passed the starter’s tower. 4.9 PIT STOPS 4.9.1 When stopping to change drivers and when the car is in the pit lane (40km/h section), the driver may only loosen the shoulder straps provided they remain substantially in place over the shoulders.
