STUDENT FILM AWARDS Emmy Award-winning costume designer Lyn Paolo provides an opportunity for emerging and student filmmakers, film & television craft career starters and trainees to ask her anything.
Lyn Paolo is one of the most iconic and sought-after Costume Designers in Hollywood today with credits in hit TV series to major films. An Emmy® Award winning Costume Designer, Lyn Paolo, is best known as the force behind the impeccably dressed Olivia Pope on the ABC-TV hit television series “Scandal”, created by Shonda Rhimes and starring Kerry Washington.
Most recentlySTUDENT Lyn completed FILM AWARDS the upcoming HULU miniseriesSTUDENT “Little FILM Fires AWARDS Everywhere” starring Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon and she is currently working on the new ShondaLand show inspired by the life of Anna Delvey.

Lyn is also costume designer behind the hit ABC series “How to Get Away with Murder”, with Viola Davis, Showtime’s “Shameless” starring Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy, the John Wells series “Animal Kingdom” with Ellen Barkin and the ABC legal drama “For the People,” another series from Shonda Rhimes. Lyn was born in Sunderland, England, and moved to LA where she worked at commercial production companies, before getting into styling of commercials and videos.
In addition to being an Emmy® award winner, Lyn has received recognition from her peers with multiple nominations for the CDG Award. In 2014, Lyn Paolo and Kerry Washington were recipients of the “Style Influencer” honor at the ACE awards of the Accessories Council and in 2015, Lyn received the first ever Variety/WWD Stylemaker award for costume design.
