Music, however, formed a very small part of his output, both in terms of total editions (sixteen of more than 600 editions) and of the physical scale of the editions. To place this into perspective, to print one copy of each of his known music editions (excluding the lost Gesangbüchlin) would have taken 282 sheets of paper; to print one copy of his 1534 bible (VD16 B 2692) took 290 sheets of paper. Previous catalogues of Egenolff’s music editions have been incomplete, although that by Hans-Christian Müller in 1964 was an outstanding version based on the evidence known at that time.2 A third of Egenolff’s extant editions have until now remained without a known title as the title pages were missing, just over half have had a contested date of printing, and two works have been believed to exist in two editions, whereas there is only one edition, but two issues, of each.

    Discography Updates (Updated May, 2021) I’ve been amassing corrections and additions since the August, 2012 publication of Pepper Adams’ Joy Road. Its 2013 paperback edition gave me a chance to overhaul the Index. For reasons I explain below, it’s vastly superior to the index in the hardcover version. But those are static changes, fixed in the manuscript. Discographers know that their databases are instantly obsolete upon publication. New commercial recordings continue to get released or reissued. Audience recordings are continually discovered. Errors are unmasked, and missing information slowly but surely gets supplanted by new data. That’s why discographies in book form are now a rarity. With the steady stream of updates that are needed to keep a discography current, the internet is the ideal medium. When Joy Road goes out of print, in fact, my entire book with updates will be posted right here. At that time, many of these changes will be combined with their corresponding entries. Until then, to give you the fullest sense of each session, please consult the original entry as well as information here. Miles Ealy Childhood Development Center Beginnings • With the formal academic year over, for the “Maymester” session, our teachers often identify a theme that reflects interests expressed by children over the year across class groups. • We had a great experience two years ago with a month long festival of performing arts, and teachers remembered there was high interest in a few activities that were “folk art” inspired. With some of those children still here at ECDC, they decided to pursue that idea. • Our documentation from the 2007 festival was revisited, several books were read, examples shared, and class discussions held that confirmed the promise of a study of folk arts. Miles Ealy Childhood Development Center Key Concepts & Activity Plans • Planning needed to be inclusive for 2-5 year olds and several children with special needs. • Activity choices needed to permit direct teaching of techniques specific to the genres, but be open-ended to allow for creative expression and individuality. • We wanted at least one activity to be a joint effort that could be added to our permanent collection and display of child work. • During the summer sessions, meeting the South Carolina Early Learning Standards is not the highest priority, but we anticipated there would be many positive outcomes from this work that could be correlated or documented to the standards.

That was the primary result of the special meeting held by the Newport City Council Monday night. Mayor Paul Monette and Aldermen John Wilson and Denis Chenette were put on the spot by the unexpected resignation of city council President Neil Morrissette and Alderman Steven Vincent after the results of Town Meeting Day balloting were known. Both men submitted letters of resignation immediately after learning that Alderman Jacques Roberge had lost his re-election bid to Mr. Chenette. “At this time and under the current conditions I can no longer serve,” both men wrote in submitting their immediate resignations.
