Claire Hooper Stand up Comedian / Writer / Presenter
CLAIRE HOOPER STAND UP COMEDIAN / WRITER / PRESENTER Claire Hooper started on the stage – crafting engaging, innovative live shows that blended stand-up, theatre and some hammer dancing. Her 2006 show, ‘Oh’, earned her both critical acclaim and a nomination for the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer award. A born storyteller with a sharp wit, Claire has gone on to regularly perform at festivals and comedy rooms all over the country. For four years Claire shared a set with Paul McDermott and Mikey Robbins on the iconic comedy show Good News Week as a team captain. She has also appeared on Rove and The Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Great Debate and Opening Night Gala. In 2019, she returned to Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Great Debate as host. Over the last decade, Claire has been captivating audiences and touring brilliant solo shows across the country to critical acclaim. In 2015 Claire scored her dream job, as co-host of The Great Australian Bake Off for Foxtel’s LifeStyle Channel alongside the seriously funny Mel Buttle, as well as judges Maggie Beer and Matt Moran and their fourth season aired in 2019. This theme carried through to Claire's brilliant brand new solo show "Biscuits" which she performed to audiences at Adelaide Fringe 2020. Claire has hit 2021 running with a regular co-hosting role on Channel Ten’s The Project as well as her involvement with the 2021 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Claire also returns as moderator for fan-favourite event "The Great Debate". Last but not least, in what is possibly Claire's proudest achievement to date, her debut children's book Princess Benjamina Has A Very Cheeky is set for release on 30th March, 2021. -

Media Release: Tuesday December 8, 2015 Final three revealed on THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKE OFF Grand Finale airs Tuesday December 15 at 8.30pm on LifeStyle FOOD The final three bakers who have made it through to the grand finale of THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKE OFF were revealed during tonight’s penultimate episode of the inspirational LifeStyle FOOD series. Jasmin Hartley, 26, from Mackay, Sian Redgrave, 23, from Perth and Suzy Stefanidis, 45, from Melbourne are the three bakers who will battle it out for baking supremacy during next week’s final episode, airing Tuesday December 15 at 8.30pm on LifeStyle FOOD. THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKE OFF started nine weeks ago with 12 of Australia’s finest home bakers stepping into the Bake Off Shed for the very first time, hoping they had the right ingredients to go all the way. Each week, judges Maggie Beer and Matt Moran farewelled one baker until just three were left – Jasmin, Sian and Suzy. Jasmin’s creativity and artistic flair has won her Star Baker twice; Sian’s jaw-dropping designs have seen her crowned Star Baker three times and, despite winning Star Baker once, Suzy has sparkled throughout the competition. During the final episode, these three bakers take it to the next level with a Signature of the classic Australian treat: Vanilla Slice, an awe-inspiring Technical challenge of Cornucopia Cake and a Showstopper where there are no rules and it’s entirely up to each of the bakers on what they make. She has appeared on and written material for national radio programmes, including on Triple J and Triple M. Sally’s TV appearances include The Comedy Channel’s ‘Headliners’ and ‘Stand-up Australia’. 2 What is Talent Camp? 3 Introduction Talent Camp is a skills Introduction development program Tomorrow’s spanning two years. We begin with a week-long intensive workshop in each state, Storytellers followed by a national camp for select state participants. We end with opportunities for internships, placements and production for participants, where possible. The hilarious Laugh Your Pants Off series is back at Jupiters Gold Coast this January, with tickets on sale just in time to be wrapped up for the big day. The phenomenally funny line-up hosted by Lindsay Webb will showcase some of the country’s best performers including the hilariously witty Joel Creasey, award-winning Sammy J and stars of stage and screen Mikey Robins and Claire Hooper. Hannah Gadsby Comedian / Writer / Art Lady Tasmania’s own Hannah Gadsby stopped stand-up comedy in its tracks with her multi award winning show, Nanette, which played to sold out houses in Australia, the UK and New York. Its launch on Netflix, and subsequent Emmy win, took Nanette (and Hannah) to the world. Hannah’s difficult second album (which was also her eleventh solo show) was named Douglas after her dog. Hannah walked Douglas around the world, selling out the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Opera House in Sydney and the Kennedy Center in DC, a sit down run in New York and shows across the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Douglas was a smash hit, moving beyond the trauma at the centre of Nanette and instead letting the world see the view from Hannah’s brain – one that sees the world differently but with breathtaking clarity. The show covered Hannah’s autism diagnosis, cleared up some confusion regarding a penguin, lectured some great masters, and saw the patriarchy needled with various levels of vigour. Douglas is available throughout the world on Netflix, recorded in Los Angeles. Hannah has done plenty of other things over the course of more than a decade in comedy, but that will do for now.
