THE SYDNEY COMEDY FESTIVAL SHOWCASE IS BACK ON THE ROAD WITH A HUGE 2015 TOUR!

The Sydney Comedy Festival has hand-picked the funniest comedians from the 2015 festival and are hitting the road to bring an all-star comedy showcase right to your doorstep. For the first time ever the tour will be heading to the town of Narrabri and then returning to Dubbo and Bathurst for the 3rd year running!

Boasting a line-up of the best local and international comics and showcasing some of the funniest and freshest emerging talents, you will be left sore from belly laughs due to this jam packed night of pure entertainment!

The Showcase will include the wickedly absurd flights of fancy of Cam Knight, the hilariously deadpan John Cruckshank, the refreshingly unique Mike Goldstein, the insightful wit of Katie Burch, confirmed funnybot Gearard McGeown, the razor-sharp Rhys Nicholson and the awesomely abstract Sam Campbell.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES CAM KNIGHT camknight.com.au TWITTER @Cam_Knight PODCAST Sydney Comedy Festival Podcast YOUTUBE Cam Knight Clip Cam Knight’s fast one-liners and wickedly absurd flights of fancy almost take you by surprise with their brilliance. Less surprising is the fact that he trained as an actor and later found a home in the stand-up comedy scene.

Cam’s earliest acting gigs were supporting roles on sketch shows like Big Bite before making a name for himself on Foxtel and The Comedy Channel presenting on a variety of hit shows including Hit & Run and two seasons of Stand Up Australia. Other television work includes roles in The Jesters, Stingers and Blue Heelers and an appearance on Good News Week as a member of ManChoir. Cam was also an improviser on Comedy Slapdown hosted by HG Nelson (Comedy Channel). His most recent presenting role took him to Noosa, McLaren Vale, Thredbo and Hobart, presenting some travelogues for Concrete Playground and Telstra called Winter Weekenders.

Cam has appeared and performed with some of the world’s best comics, including Demetri Martin, Mike Wilmot, Michael Winslow, Stephen K Amos, Seth Green and Will Ferrell. As well as supporting Wil Anderson at The Sydney Opera House.

In 2013 & 2015 he was a Raw Comedy State Finalist and 2015 he headlined the prestigious Breakout Showcase for the Sydney Comedy Festival.

Gearard McGeown has featured on FBI, 2Day FM and Triple J radio stations as well as ABCs the Checkout. A regular at the Sydney Comedy Store, he has performed in Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth and Secret Garden Festival. A member of the rathouse Gearard is a confirmed funnybot.

Rhys’s brand of wry humour and sardonic wit have developed his trademark for hilarious social commentary.

A regular at the Sydney Comedy Store, Rhys has previously worked with and supported the likes of Louis CK (USA), Kathy Griffin (USA), Greg Fleet, Jim Jefferies, Steve Hughes and Wil Anderson.

After making his Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut in 2012, Rhys returned to the festival circuit in 2013 with his critically acclaimed new show “The Dawn Of A New Error”. After playing to full houses at the Brisbane Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival, Rhys took the show to his first Edinburgh Festival Fringe, receiving rave reviews for his stylish, black comedy. People also spoke a lot about his nice jackets.

2014 was another big year for Rhys. He toured his show ‘Eurgh', performing in Festivals around Australia, added an encore performance at Sydney’s Comedy Store, returned to Edinburgh Festival Fringe before heading to London for his debut at the Soho Theatre. 2015 has not seen Rhys slow down, having just finished successful runs of his new show ‘Forward’ at both Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival.

Since being crowned the Queensland champion of the 2011 Raw Comedy competition he has gone from strength to strength performing in comedy rooms all over Australia. This year Sam was nominated for Best Newcomer at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and went on to take out the award at Sydney Comedy Festival for his show Cambo’s On Top.

Sam has toured nationally as part of Break Out Comedy and Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour. In addition to stand-up, Campbell is part of the YouTube collective Skills in Time and star of the web-series Dayne’s World. It’s safe to say that Sam’s energy, weird faces and strange stories will win the hearts and laughs of plenty of people across Australia.
