Massimiliano Caviasca Architect Biography Massimiliano Caviasca architect He was born in Udine, Italy, in 1972, and graduated in 1999 with C.Aymonino at IUAV where he started a profitable teaching and research activity collaborating with M. Carmassi until 2004. Since 2005 he has been professor at Polytechnic of Milan in "Architectural Design" and starting from 2008 he also became professor at University of Trento. From 2008 to 2014 he was professor for the courses in “Interior Design” and “Design Elements” at Polytechnic of Milan. He developed since 2005 a sector of studies, researches, project and courses in the field of interior design and usage of stone in architecture in various universities. From 2007 to 2013 he taught “Interior Design” at Polytechnic of Milan, From 2008 he is Director of two masters of I and II level, at Polytechnic of Milan in “Modern design using stone”. From 2007 to 2018 he is Researcher at Polytechnic of Milan DPA department and DASTU, conducting studies on architecture and design project based on stone. In 2010 he showed an interest in the furniture district of Pianura Veneta, with a research “The culture of living”, an international workshop “Custom made interior design”, being its professor and superintendent at Polytechnic of Milan from 2010 to 2016. From 2016 he is Director at Polidesign-Polytechnic of Milan of a “STONE DESIGN” High Specialization International course. He is Director and founder of DMLAD-Department of Stony Materials in Architecture and Design in 2017 at ISIM-Istituto Internazionale del Marmo (National Institute of Marble) co- founded with Confindustria Marmomacchine which has the target to promote international education in the field of stone. In 2011 he founded the Stone Academy being its Director; under his management he collected over 20 universities, worldwide. Its role of President was renewed for 2019-2021 as Stone Academy Italia President – Italian Association for stone architecture. From 2017 to 2019 he manages as Scientific and Didactic Director the NAD-Nuova Accademia del Design (New Academy of Design) He is invited to hold conferences and workshops, both in Italy and abroad, as lecturer and he is member of International juries for architecture and design contests. Since many years, his design and teaching work is object of diverse international publications and plenty of exhibitions and expositions. In September 2011 he designed "Thinking about history", being invited by Marmomacc to meditate with an installation about past and future of architecture design in stone. In 2012 he was selected together with Zaha Hadid, Tobia Scarpa, Marco Piva, Luca Scacchetti, Grafton Architects as designer at international symposium "Marmomacc Meets Design 2012" and he was requested to realize a design work. He is responsible since 2000 of different meetings and workshops about city evolution, architecture design; among the most relevant it is worth to mention the invitations and speeches with: Boris Podrecca, Claudio Silvestrin, Luca Scacchetti, Marco Piva, Aldo Chibic, Richard Ingersoll. From 2014 to 2016 he was responsible for furniture fair Living the Time-Verona Fiere of the cultural and educational section “Fondamenti_di _Abitare“ (Foundations of Living). From 2004 to 2017 he was responsible for Marmomacc -Verona Fiere of the cultural and educational section “Stone Academy- Università e Professione“ in collaboration with IUAV and CNAPPC. From 2016 to 2019 he is responsible for Samoter - Verona Fiere of the cultural and educational section “SaMoTer Training & Education“ in collaboration with IUAV e CNAPPC. Since 1999 he works as freelance professional in the field of architecture, of interior design; in 2010 he founded the atelier AReA_Caviasca implementing projects based on materials iteration and leading different groups of experimental research in the field of design and urban projects. In 2012 he was invited at "Marmomacc & the City" symposium for which he implemented an urban installation. In 2013 he introduced in Marmomacc the research projects "Luxury & Stone" and "Luxury & Pool" dedicated to the usage of stone in wellness field. In 2014 he introduced in Marmomacc and Living the Time the research project "Luxury & Relax Living" dedicated to the usage of stone in the field of household relax. In 2014 he was invited at "Marmomacc & the City" symposium for which he designed the installation "Indoccia" for Caucci corporate. In the period 2005-2018 he was consultant of Verona Fiere for the architecture sections dedicated to furniture (Living the Time), stone (Marmomacc) and major works (Samoter). In 2015 he becomes designer for the Morelato Foundation, for project related to decor elements developing new usage of living shapes. Together with Marmomacc group he is awarded of Honourable Mention at the XXII edition of “Golden Compass” - ADI for design and teaching. In May 2015 he was invited in China from WANDA group to hold conferences about his work and to share his ideas on the usage of stone for urban developement. In 2015 he hold a course about stone design for UMGG (Universo Marble and Granite Group), the greatest company in the world for this sector. In 2015 he signed an agreement with Sichuan Fine Art Institute and EMGdotART for the foundation of SISCRC - Sino-Italian Stone Culture Research Center located in the campus of Huangjueping 108, Jiulongpo District at Chongqing 400053. In May 2016 he was architecture consultant for the Chinese association HOAA- house of art and artist for the Milan site. In 2016-17 he designed the HOAA branch in Milan; this project was object of many publications regarding the restoration and transformation of the former manufacturing site into an expository Loft, an international co-working area, offices and laboratories. Since October 2017 he is Honourable Expert Member of China Elite Designer International Club-ICEED. In 2019 he signed a research and development contract with Shanghai Big Lion Group, about Research and Developement in Stone Design. In the same year he also signed a research and development contract with Shunfa Stone, for Research and Development Exhibition Design. In 2018 he conceived the project of SISC-Sino Italian Stone City, a sustainable city to be built in China, which is still on going. He was special guest at Xiamen Stone Fair 2018 for a conference related to his work. He was special guest at Xiamen Stone Fair 2019 for a conference about “Interior Design and stone objects”. He was special guest in Xiamen Stone Fair 2019 to hold a conference about the project SISC-Sino Italian Stone City. For the period 2018-2021 he is consultant for DASN _ interior & building at Changsha, China. Expert of research and conference 2019, consultant for Lishengstone_ Marble at Huizhou, in China. As expert he was invited to hold the conference “Stone Meet art and Design” at Canton Academy March 12 2019 - Dipartimento di Scultura (Sculpture Department). In November 2019 he was invited at the International Fair of Shuitou “Special Guest” and monographic exhibit about research work 2004-2019. Responsible and Designer of “Shuitou meet Stone Design 2019”, in collaboration with International Fair of Shuitou. In 2019 he was invited to introduce to the WUHAN government the project SISC-Sino Italian Stone City. He was special guest at Xiamen Stone Fair 2020 for the section Stone Design with lecture on new Stone Design projects of AReA_Caviasca. .

Each year, we collect and curate data to form clear pictures of business trends for our top 100 Giants firms, the Rising Giants just behind, and the Giants in hospitality and health care. Now we are focusing on the firms working in the blooming residential sector. Over the course of several months, we carefully developed our questions for Interior Design’s first business survey of Residential Leaders. Then we sent them out with high hopes.     STUDIO MARCO PIVA DESIGN PHILOSOPHY Inside the creative and multicultural heart of Milan, that’s where you’ll find Studio Marco Piva: an academy of sciences more than an architectural and design firm, an experimental workshop where, with methodological rigor, different design scales are dealt with, from Master Plan to Architecture, from Interior to Industrial Design. The Leadership of Studio Marco Piva is constituted by a Board of Directors which, in addition to the founder Marco Piva, includes: the co-founder Sarah Gabaglio, Head of the Style and Design Department; Armando Bruno, the Chief Executive Officer of SMP and Head of Educational; Fabio Basile, the General Manager; and Daniela Baldo, the Chief Operating Officer and responsible together with Marco Piva for Overseas operations. The firm is currently composed of a hundred collaborators, all extremely skilled in the various disciplines from Urban Design to Architecture, from Interiors to Product design. The opening of the Chinese office in 2019 has allowed SMP to be able to maintain a more stable presence in the vast Chinese territory, allowing for complex coordination of projects in several cities like Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu. Architects, engineers and interior designers, develop projects all over the world starting from research on socio- economic references and on available construction technologies. Projects start with research and ultimately achieve highly realistic graphic rendering, and then go from the building of the prototypes to simulations of efficiency: a breeding ground of creativity from which solutions that have a strong impact emerge.

Lampada poi selezionata alla mostra del 13mo BlO di Lubiana • Nel 1991 ha rappresentato ADI quale esperto illuminotecnico al congresso di Taiwan. • Nel 1993sempre per ADI, ha partecipato al Korean Design Seminar a Seul, come esperto illuminotecnico e designer presso alcune aziende Coreane. • Nel 1998, su mandato ADI, è stato Teacher Designer presso la ROC university a Taiwan. • Nel 1998 ha fondato MADS- Man-Age Design-Studio, un laboratorio progettuale per il design eco sostenibile.
