The birthday party will be celebrated in just s, about two week when the engines will be back roaring at the “South Garda Karting” circuit in Lonato (Brescia). The venue will host the trophy for the first time in history, more than four decades after Parma the Karting-‐promoted maiden run in 1971. The 2012 edition, scheduled to run between the 19th and the 21st of October, will be -‐ highly international and also a pretty crowded one in terms of the roster. A stunning 150 drivers are expected on-‐track to represent 4 Continents and 26 Countries. In terms of numbers, Russia leads with 9 drivers, followed by Switzerland (6), Austria and Denmark (5), while the KZ2 class is set to be the most challenging one with 54 names on its line-‐up. In addition to simple numbers, the quality is set to be exceptional too. Fresh KF3 World Luca Champion Corberi (Tonykart-‐Vortex) will be competing in KF2, while will be someone to keep an eye on, as well as for Canadian Ferrari Driver Academy Lance racer Stroll, who 2009 Trofeo delle Industrie champion Yuri Lucati also scored the -‐ runner up position at Trofeo Andrea (KKart Racing), joining the KZ2 field. 2016 MEDIA GUIDE Toyota Racing Series: TOP INTERNATIONALS CHALLENGE LEADING KIWI DRIVERS New Zealand’s premier single-seater championship has once more attracted a top field of international drivers to this country to do battle with New Zealand drivers for the most prestigious trophies in New Zealand motor racing. The championship, now in its 12th season, and in the second season for the new FT50 race car, the series was established to help young New Zealanders to advance their racing careers by giving them experience in modern composite-based ‘wings and slicks’ race cars. It has launched Kiwis into international racing careers. New Zealand graduates of the series include 2015 FIA World Endurance Champion Brendon Hartley, Le Mans 24-Hour race winner Earl Bamber, GP2 racers Mitch Evans and Richie Stanaway, Japanese Formula Three champion Nick Cassidy, Chinese Formula Masters champion James Munro, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champion Chris van der Drift and V8 Supercars driver Shane van Gisbergen. This year three Kiwis are racing – James Munro (Christchurch), 2015 national Formula Ford champion Taylor Cockerton (Pukekohe) and 2015 Spirit of a Nation TRS feature race winner Brendon Leitch. Munro is having his third shot at winning the TRS championship as is Leitch, while it is Cockerton’s first year in the top category. The international talent they will race against is considerable. Brazilian 17-year-old Pedro Piquet, son of three-time world Formula One champion Nelson (1981, 1983, 1987), is returning to the TRS after contesting the opening rounds in 2014. In the intervening period he has won the Brazilian Formula Three Championship for the last two years and will be using the TRS series as a springboard into the FIA European Formula Three Championship where he will team up with British driver and 2015 TRS graduate Callum Ilott at Van Amersfoort racing.

Press Release SIX DRIVERS IN CONTENTION TO BE F3 CHAMPION, FERRARI’S FUTURE STARS LEAD F2 TO MUGELLO Milan, September 10, 2020 - After an intense season with nine rounds in the space of 11 weekends, a new Formula 3 champion will be crowned at Mugello. Six drivers are in mathematical contention to win the title: Prema Racing team-mates Oscar Piastri and Logan Sargeant, Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix), Liam Lawson (Hitech GP), David Beckmann (Trident) and Frederik Vesti (Prema). In Formula 2, where Mugello is the first of four rounds still to run, the championship standings are headed by Callum Ilott, Mick Schumacher and Robert Shwartzman: all three are members of the Ferrari Driver Academy and are covered by only nine points. The challenge Mugello is made up of 15 corners that are mainly medium to high speed, meaning the lateral demands on the tyres are far greater than the braking and traction forces. The surface at Mugello is known to be aggressive, adding to the demands on the tyres. Temperatures are also likely to be high, making thermal degradation a factor. Mugello has never hosted the F2 or F3 championships or their predecessors, not even for testing. Teams will therefore have limited knowledge about car setup and how the tyres will perform, prior to the single 45-minute free practice sessions on Friday. The tyres and strategy The P Zero White hard and P Zero Red soft tyres have been nominated in Formula 2 for Mugello, creating an interesting performance gap between the compounds. In F2, each driver has five sets of slick tyres to use over the weekend: three hard and two soft.
