BEECHWOOD BOYS –WORKOUT DRILLS Ball handling segment o Stop and Go Dribble; Inside Out dribble; Change of direction moves; ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Combination dribbles; Speed dribble ​ ​ ​ o ‘Magic Johnson’ – protection dribble ​ ​ ​ o ‘Scott Bibbins’ – change pace and use retreat dribble ​ ​ ​ o ‘Run the Show’ – Ball spin/inside pivot and pop ball; rip thru – step over; ​ ​ ​ straight line dribble – put on the brakes – magic/scotty o ‘Steve Nash Drill’ – change direction dribbles in a confined space – using ​ ​ ​ chair/garbage can as imaginary defender o 2 Ball Series – Simultaneous/Alternating/Switch/Hi-Lo/UpBack/ZigZag ​ ​ ​ · Finishes around basket ​ ​ o – alternating on either side of rim jumping off inside foot ​ ​ ​ and using outside hand o Reverse Mikan Drill – alternating layups on either side of rim with back to ​ ​ ​ baseline – jumping off inside foot and using outside hand o Righties/Lefties – around chairs at either elbow using outside hand ​ ​ ​ and working on various finishes at rim – regular , inside hand/outside foot, power layup, euro-step o Reverse Righties/Lefties – chairs at one elbow and in same side short corner – ​ ​ ​ dribble around both with outside hand and attack from baseline coming out reverse side for a finish o Ball Spin Post-Ups – ball spin to self in low post and work on basic moves – ​ ​ ​ middle jump hook, counter back to baseline side, up-under o Elbow Rips – ball spin at elbow using an inside pivot to attack basket with ​ ​ ​ strong hand off of one dribble and ‘hop and pop’ power layup; add counter move and jab step crossover.

· Alford Ball Spin Shooting Series ​ ​ o Ball spin shoot and series – 1 minute at a time, or 10 shots at a time, or ​ ​ 10 makes at a time – followed by rest = 2 ft’s o Mid range jumper series (as many reps as you prefer) ​ ​ o Shot fake 1 dribble series ​ ​ o Dribble move pull up series ​ ​ o 3 shot series ​ ​ o ‘21’ Drill – Pull up shooting series – layups=1; midrange=2; =3 ​ ​
