PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A night on the mountain: trilogy of another century

Montreal, January 9, 2008 — The McCord Museum invites you to travel through time during the All-Nighter of the MONTREAL HIGH LIGHTS Festival, with a costume ball, historical figures and even a few steps of baroque dance.

On Saturday, March 1, 2008, from 8 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., meet some 19th century characters by visiting the Simply Montréal exhibition, and let yourself be drawn into the atmosphere of the early part of the last century! Join the celebration by participating in a class in baroque dance. Finally, let your imagination roam free by creating your own masquerade mask, the perfect accessory for appreciating our latest exhibition, Reveal or Conceal.

This new exhibition of women’s clothing explores different perceptions of modesty and eroticism through the centuries; it also examines how the female body, revealed more and more over time, provides valuable insights into changes in attitudes and social practices.

Prolong this magical night by stepping into a horse-drawn carriage at the McCord Museum and journeying up the mountain, to take part in activities offered by the and the Friends of the Mountain at the McTavish Reservoir.
