True tension comes from a world where consequences exist for actions. I thought that was left behind in the original X-Men from the 60's, because it is obviously creepy. I'm still mad at Kirkman as a writer and Professor X as a character in this volume so the superposed of Professor X looses most of its emotional weight and isn't helped much by what felt like lazy artwork. What I didn't expect were some of the jarring twists. Can the shattered nation recover after the dramatic events of United We Stand?
