After allowing 10 straight runs in a 10-5 loss to the Brockton Rox, the 7-10 New Britain Bees will have the chance to put the defeat behind them quickly. Thursday, June 17 the Bees will try to prove their mettle looking for a rebound win when they travel to face the 10-8 Norwich Sea Unicorns. Norwich has won three straight games entering play Thursday, and they have played reasonably well against the Bees this season. In three meetings between the two teams, New Britain has lost two of three and been outscored 17-16. It’s been a close season series, but the Sea Unicorns have had the slight edge thus far. Norwich is hitting an impressive .258 as a team this season, with a whopping eight Sea Unicorns hitting above .300. Conversely, New Britain is hitting .230 as a team this year with only three such players. The difference between Norwich’s 4.61 team-ERA versus New Britain’s 4.72 is more-or-less negligible however. On the mound for the Bees will be the Southern Connecticut State product, Brandon White. White has made two brief appearances this season, with near-opposite results between the two. In an 11-0 loss to the Brockton Rox, White allowed two hits and four runs. In his more recent appearance, he pitched a 1-2-3 inning in which he faced three batters and struck out two. The Bees are hoping for a performance like that on Thursday. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. Eastern..
