The Influence of S. Miladinović et al. Utjecaj "Željezare Smederevo" na kvalitetu okoliša i mogućnost njezinog poboljšanja pomoću sustava nadzora ISSN 1330-3651 (Print), ISSN 1848-6339 (Online) UDC/UDK 502.36:504.3.054(497.11Smederevo) THE INFLUENCE OF "ZELEZARA SMEDEREVO" ON THE QUALITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND ITS ABILITY TO IMPROVE THROUGH THE MONITORING SYSTEM Slobodan Miladinović, Stevo Jaćimovski, Željko Nikač, Dalibor Kekić Original scientific paper The uneven development and achieved degree of economy have negative consequences on the quality of the environment in Smederevo. The most endangered area is the industrial area of "Zelezara Smederevo" which directly threatens the city of Smederevo and a few settlements nearby, like Radinac, Ralja and Vranovo. Using a mathematical pattern the maximum low concentration of SO2 exhausted from the blast furnace of "Zelezara Smederevo" was calculated. The data from health statistics about prescribed medicine, the structure of diseases and the current information about the degree of endangered environment were used to illustrate the cause and effect relation between health condition and the influence of certain pollutants existing in the environment. Keywords: air pollution, ingredient concentration, the quality of air, Zelezara Smederevo Utjecaj "Željezare Smederevo" na kvalitetu okoliša i mogućnost njezinog poboljšanja pomoću sustava nadzora Izvorni znanstveni članak Neujednačen razvoj i postignut stupanj ekonomije imaju negativne posljedice na kvalitetu okoliša u Smederevu. Ključne riječi: kvaliteta zraka, onečišćenje zraka, sastojak koncentracije, Željezara Smederevo 1 Introduction Steel Plant wastewater, without prior treatment, is released [2]. City of Smederevo is in a mildly rolled lowland area of the southern edge of the Pannonian Basin, on far north- 2 Air quality eastern part of Sumadija. The territory of Smederevo has an area of 481,7 km2 and regionally belongs to the The Smederevo Steel Plant is an industrial complex District of Podunavlje and Donje Veliko Pomoravlje. The located 7 miles southeast of Smederevo on 350 hectares. area of the City of Smederevo consists of an urban It represents the most important part of Smederevo’s settlement Smederevo and 27 rural and semi-urban development (74 % of total production and 97 % of settlements. With an average density of 229,6 inhabitants exports) in the field of black metallurgy, manufacture of per km2, Smederevo is one of the most densely populated iron and steel. It is characterized by high techno- cities in the Republic of Serbia. Existing conditions and economic and spatial characteristics regarding water environmental quality of the City of Smederevo and its consumption, waste water discharges, power environment are defined according to the results of consumption, large-scale transport, with stressed measurements of environmental elements performed by production link in intra- regional (Republican) and trans- authorized organization, existing planning documents, regional spatial dimension. In the same area there is a performed research studies, available technical and company named "Messer Tehnogas" which produces scientific literature, and direct insight into the situation on medical and specialty gases. This factory wields modern the field. Irregular development and achieved level of facilities and equipment in 8 cities of Serbia, of which the economic development had a negative impact on largest are in Smederevo and Nis. Specific types, large environmental quality in Smederevo. High concentration amount and production methods create major of population, industry and transport as well as environmental pressure on all elements of the agricultural production, caused the increased degree of environment which contribute to the highest level of degradation and pollution of land, air and water. The most environmental hazard in this area. With the production of endangered areas can be identified in industrial zone of 2,2 million tons per year, over 70 billion m3 of waste Steel Plant in Smederevo, which directly threatens the gases is emitted into the atmosphere (approximately 3 3 City of Smederevo and its nearby villages, such as 32.000 m per ton of processed steel, or 8,2 million m per Radinac, Ralja and Vranovo, then the Smederevo hour). In the Smederevo Steel Plant 89 emitters are industrial zone, which occupies an area of 260 hectares, registered: 34 in Sintering Plant, 8 in Blast Furnace 1 and where the majority of the industry (metal manufacturing 2, 32 in Steelshop, 4 in Hot Strip Mill, 10 in Cold Rolling and engineering industry) is placed, and which was built Mill and 1 in Power Plant [1]. Besides them, The Steel and developed without proper planning and Plant has 5 ore and raw materials landfills which are environmental standards [1].

  • Transfer of Knowledge and Innovation As a Model of Rural Development of Smederevo Region in Serbia
Rural areas and development 13 (2016) Branko Mihailović Institute of Agricultural Economics, Belgrade, Serbia, [email protected] Drago Cvijanović Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism – Vrnjci Spa, University of Kragujevac, Serbia, [email protected] Transfer of Knowledge and Innovation as a Model of Rural Development of Smederevo Region in Serbia Abstract: Many factors affect low investments in Smederevo and among them, above all, are: high commercial and non-commercial risks, tardy economic transition and underdeve- loped institutions, which guarantee in practice the rights deriving from the private property and contracts. Rural development in Smederevo requires that sources of competitiveness move toward high education, the efficient market and capability to earn on the existing technologies, i.e. the focus of agriculture should be moved from physical resources to know- ledge, especially since agricultural enterprises in Smederevo have non-profitable business performances, which manifest through decline in the market share and profitability, increase in indebtedness, inadequate investments and the increased volume of new business ventures at the expense of the primary business. It is noticeable that the adequate entrepreneurial skills and the innovated managerial abilities and skills are necessary. Accordingly, exactly the development of innovation and transfer of innovative knowledge and technologies from the academic to agricultural sector are the most important form of activities, which stimu- late development. VuČKoVić, Hometown Museum in Paraćin ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF BOLNICA IN PARAĆIN AND ITS importance FOR THE prehistory OF THE CENTRAL Morava REGION – a contribution in chronology and horizontal and vertical stratigraphy email: [email protected] Abstract – The paper presents the horizontal and vertical stratigraphy of the site of Bolnica in Paraćin, based on both earlier and the latest archaeological excavations and the material which had been collected for decades by the Hometown Museum in Paraćin, as a result of the construction works connected with the constant urbanisation of the area. The presented archaeological material is attributed to a period from the Early neolithic to the socalled Dacian La Tène, meaning the 2nd century AD. One of the subjects discussed in this paper is the possibility that the sites of Bolnica and Motel Slatina, in fact, represent one large site, which was artificially divided by the E 75 highway and the Serbian Glass Factory. The comparative analysis, which encompassed the sites positioned on the right bank of the Velika Morava River, showed that this is one of the sites with the most independent chronological sequences in the Central Morava Region. Likewise, the importance of this site as a strategic point and an important intersection on the route from the Danube River to the Central Balkans, and further towards the south and east is underlined.
