Welcome to the party.

In honour of our favourite, late disco DJ, Larry Levan, we’ve put together a few & drinks in this book that will hopefully take you somewhere near to seventh heaven and back again. Or at least mountain high or river deep. The list features a range of wines which have been made with care and love. The majority are low intervention, organic, biodynamic winemakers who care as much about environment as they do with what’s in the glass, realising that each are intrinsic to the other. Enjoy!

The Jura we’re talking about is found in Eastern France, in the shadow of the Alps and a neighbourly distance from its famous cousin Burgundy. With its unique grape varieties Savagnin, Trousseau and Poulsard (aka Ploussard), as well as its fine examples of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and its legendary winemakers and practices, the Jura is a particularly fascinating (and delicious) region. Jura whites come in two styles - ouillé or ‘topped up’, and sous voile, meaning oxiditatively aged under a ‘veil’ of yeast.

“Psst… you got any Overnoy?” Some Jura vignerons make wines so consistently great, but in such small quantities, that they have achieved legendary cult status. Their names are whispered across bars and in cellars, with barely contained hope and optimism that there might be a bottle or two stashed away, if one asks very nicely. We have been lucky enough to score tiny allocations of wines from some of these legends to share with you (But no, we do not have any Overnoy…yet).
