Lincoln High School English II Summer Reading Assignment

Welcome to English II at Lincoln High School! This course is designed to build on the literary skills you have developed in your previous English classes. To better prepare you for the class, you will need to read one book from the list below over the summer. You may check out a copy of the book from the LHS Library from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesdays in June and July or from the Siouxland Libraries, or you may purchase your own copy. Some books are also available as an eBook; refer to the book list for the titles that are electronically accessible. Do not wait until the very end of the summer to read your book since the libraries or bookstores might not have enough copies on hand!

As you read your book, take notes on the book using the attached handout. The notes will be handed in to your English II teacher during the first two days of school. Take thorough notes since the book will not be available to use during the in-class essay.

We look forward to meeting you and working with you next year. Have a great summer!
