All players wear a tag belt which has two ribbons (tags) attached to it by velcro. The belt is worn around the waist and outside of the clothing. Shirts should be tucked in. the tags are positioned on either side of the hips and teams are distinguished by the colour of the tags they wear. Note: belts should be firmly fastened to avoid unnecessary movement during the ‘tag’, with any surplus length of belt being tucked securely out of the way for safety. OBJECT OF THE GAME To score a try by placing the ball with downward pressure on or behind the opposing ‘goal line’. Note: a try is worth one point so youngsters can keep score easily NUMBER OF PLAYERS Year 1 and 2 tag rugby should be played in teams of no more than 4 aside, whilst year 3, 4, 5 and 6s should play in teams of no more than 6 aside. The fewer players in a team, the higher the player involvement and activity. This is flexible and can be as many as 10-a-side. DURATION OF PLAY SIZE OF PITCH For 4 aside games it is suggested that two halves of four Pitch sizes vary depending on the number of players on the minutes each are played, with 1 minute for half time, and pitch. 4 aside games can be played on a 12 x 20m pitch, and two halves of six minutes for 6 aside games. -

“I had an idea about getting the team all in the same coloured socks, with the stripes of our college. Try as I might, I couldn’t find the most simple pair of purple and yellow socks anywhere. Instead, I got a sock knitting machine and crafted 5 pairs of unique socks for the team. These got a lot of attention by the river and I was being asked by other teams to make them up in other colours too. This is where I thought that if I were to make socks in all the different college colours, then not only rowers need get them but other sports teams too. It wasn’t long until the word spread and in just one week I had made around 600 pairs of socks. When orders were in for socks, I would spend all night crafting them, and would even hand deliver if they lived on campus. I really enjoyed what I was doing. It seemed so fun, so simple and everybody loved them. The bare bones of what I love about Rupert and Buckley is the strong combination of contemporary designs, common-sense styling and then a whisper of charm over each garment which makes it stand out amongst its peers. THE DALLAS RUGBY CLUB SEEKS NEW HEAD COACH BENINNING FALL 2021 The Dallas Rugby Football Club seeks an experienced, culture driven Head Coach to lead the development and preparation of its men’s rugby sides. The Head Coach will report to Dallas Rugby’s Director of Rugby (DOR) who is responsible for the oversight of the on- field product on all sides including Men’s, 7’s, Women’s, High School, and Youth. About Dallas Rugby Recent History The Dallas Rugby Club competes in all four divisions of USA Men’s Club Rugby (D1, D2, D3, & D4) and before the COVID affected 2020-21 season held the title of the largest men’s rugby club in the USA in three of the previous four seasons. In the highest divisions, Dallas Rugby competes regularly at the top of the Texas Rugby Union/Red River Rugby Conference. Major League Rugby Since the MLR’s founding in 2018, Dallas Rugby has had a strong connection to the league with many players moving up to play professionally for both the Houston SaberCats and NOLA Gold. In addition to player movement, Dallas Rugby has a history of regularly playing MLR teams and their Academies in pre-season matches. In December 2020, it was announced that Dallas Rugby would be one of two Division 1 Affiliates of the Dallas Jackals as they look forward to entering the MLR for the 2022 season. Responsibilities of the Dallas Rugby Head Coach Preparation • Facilitating all team-sponsored XVs training events (Sept-May), the team shall be expected to train no less than twice per week, weather and field availability permitting. -

UNIFORM Years 7-11 Uniform at King Henry’s King Henry’s pupils are expected to take pride in their uniform and appearance: clothes should be clean, in good repair and worn properly; hair must be tidy, of natural colour and appropriate for a school setting. All articles must be clearly marked with the pupil’s name and Form Uniform Travelling to/from School School uniform will be worn whenever pupils are on site at King Henry VIII School. This includes the journey to and from school and on school visits as required. To promote a healthy lifestyle, our uniform does not preclude walking or cycling to school. Pupils are permitted to wear light colours and reflective materials over their uniform, so that pupils are as visible as possible when walking or cycling to school during the winter months. Uniform Sales The Parents’ Association run uniform sales every Half Term in the School Hall, where second hand items of uniform can be purchased. Further Questions? The four health systems of the United Kingdom: how do they compare? Gwyn Bevan, Marina Karanikolos, Jo Exley, Ellen Nolte, Sheelah Connolly and Nicholas Mays Source report April 2014 About this research This report is the fourth in a series dating back to 1999 which looks at how the publicly financed health care systems in the four countries of the UK have fared before and after devolution. The report was commissioned jointly by The Health Foundation and the Nuffield Trust. The research team was led by Nicholas Mays at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The research looks at how the four national health systems compare and how they have performed in terms of quality and productivity before and after devolution. The research also examines performance in North East England, which is acknowledged to be the region that is most comparable to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in terms of socioeconomic and other indicators. This report, along with an accompanying summary report, data appendices, digital outputs and a short report on the history of devolution (to be published later in 2014), are available to download free of charge at www.nuffieldtrust.org.uk/compare-uk-health www.health.org.uk/compareUKhealth. But too much sport isn't always good for you. You should relax sometimes, too - it's healthier! Some of the rules of Rugby The rugby ball is oval, not round. There are 15 players in a team. A game lasts 80 minutes. Players can kick, carry or throw the ball (but they mustn't throw the ball forward). Players can tackle the player with the ball and bring him down. That player must then give up the ball. Another player can then take it. The man in white has tackled the one in black, so that player must give up the ball. A player can put the bail on the ground behind the other team's goal-line. This is a 'try' (5 points). There are three types of goal: 1) After a team gets a try, a player from that team can kick the ball over the other team's goalposts for a 'conversion' (2 points). -
The Sydney Cricket Ground: Sport and the Australian Identity
The Sydney Cricket Ground: Sport and the Australian Identity Nathan Saad Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Technology Sydney This paper explores the interrelationship between sport and culture in Australia and seeks to determine the extent to which sport contributes to the overall Australian identity. It uses the Syndey Cricket Ground (SCG) as a case study to demonstrate the ways in which traditional and postmodern discourses influence one’s conception of Australian identity and the role of sport in fostering identity. Stoddart (1988) for instance emphasises the utility of sports such as cricket as a vehicle through which traditional British values were inculcated into Australian society. The popularity of cricket in Australia constitutes perhaps what Markovits and Hellerman (2001) coin a “hegemonic sports culture,” and thus represents an influential component of Australian culture. However, the postmodern discourse undermines the extent to which Australian identity is based on British heritage. Gelber (2010) purports that contemporary Australian society is far less influenced by British traditions as it was prior to WWII. The influence of immigration in Australia, and the global ascendency of Asia in recent years have led to a shift in national identity, which is reflected in sport. Edwards (2009) and McNeill (2008) provide evidence that traditional constructions of Australian sport minimise the cultural significance of indigenous athletes and customs in shaping national identity. Ultimately this paper argues that the role of sport in defining Australia’s identity is relative to the discourse employed in constructing it. Introduction The influence of sport in contemporary Australian life and culture seems to eclipse mere popularity. -

The sample comprised of 30 government schools from Bulandshahar, Uttar Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh (Rural) and 30 schools from Meerut (Urban) districts were randomly selected and India this gave a sample size of 60 schools. A questionnaire developed by the researcher for physical education teachers; personal interviews and inspection methods were used for data collection. The present study emphasized the status of physical education and sports facilities in rural and urban schools of Western Uttar Pradesh. The data was analyzed by calculating simple percentages. The result of the study revealed that 80% schools of Meerut district organize school sports meet whereas only 30% schools of Western Uttar Pradesh district organize these competitions. The result results suggested that in most of the schools of Western Uttar Pradesh district physical education facilities were in vulnerable condition and need to be improved.
