BCRD 10 & UNDER SOFTBALL PARK RULES: ALL GAMES WILL BE SIX (6) INNINGS OR HAVE A ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTE (1:15) TIME LIMIT. THAT IS TO SAY THAT AT THE TIME OF THE TIME LIMIT WE WILL FINISH THE INNING IN PROGRESS. AN INNING WILL BE COMPLETE WHEN THREE OUTS ARE RECORDED OR A TEAM HAS SCORED FIVE RUNS. A GAME SHALL BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE IF A TEAM IS AHEAD BY SIX (6) RUNS AFTER FIVE INNINGS, OR ELEVEN (11) RUNS AFTER FOUR INNINGS. THE HOME TEAM WILL BE LISTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GAME SCHEDULE AND WILL OCCUPY THE FIRST BASE DUGOUT. THE VISITING TEAM WILL OCCUPY THE THIRD BASE DUGOUT. ALL PLAYERS PRESENT AT THE GAME WILL BE LISTED IN THE BATTING ORDER. IF A PLAYER SHOWS UP LATE ADD THEM TO THE END OF THE LINEUP. PLEASE TURN IN BATTING ORDER 10 MINUTES BEFORE GAME TIME. ALL PLAYERS MUST PLAY TWO (2) INNINGS ON DEFENSE. BCRD/GRPA 10 & UNDER MACHINE PITCH RULES: (1.) THE MACHINE WILL PITCH THE BALL FROM 40 FEET AND WILL BE SET AT 35 M.P.H.. THE FIELD UMPIRE WILL FEED THE MACHINE AND ACT AS BASE UMPIRE. ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE MACHINE WILL BE MADE BY THE UMPIRE. (2.) THE MACHINE WILL BE SET WITH A MINIMUM HEIGHT OF 12 INCHES FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE WHEEL TO THE GROUND AND A MAXIMUM OF 24 INCHES FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE WHEEL TO THE GROUND. (3.) AN 8 FOOT DEEP BY 12 FOOT WIDE RECTANGULAR BOX WILL BE DRAWN WITH THE MACHINE CENTERED ON THE PITCHERS PLATE. THE DEFENSIVE PLAYER PITCHER MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE FOOT IN THE BOX AT THE TIME OF THE PITCH. (4.) EACH TEAM WILL PLAY WITH TEN (10) PLAYERS ON DEFENSE. FOUR OUTFIELDERS, A PLAYER PITCHER, CATCHER, THIRD BASE, SHORTSTOP, SECOND, AND FIRST BASEMAN. (5.) WHEN A BATTED BALL HITS EITHER THE MACHINE, THE EXTENSION CORD, OR THE UMPIRE FEEDING THE MACHINE, IT WILL BE CONSIDERED A “DEAD-BALL” SINGLE AND THE BATTER GETS FIRST BASE AND ANY RUNNERS WILL BE AWARDED ONE BASE IF FORCED. (EX. RUNNER AT SECOND, BATTEED BALL HITS THE MACHINE. THE BATTER GETS FIRST BASE, BUT THE RUNNER AT SECOND MUST GO BACK TO SECOND SINCE THEY WERE NOT FORCED TO RUN) (6.) WHEN A THROWN BALL HITS THE MACHINE OR EXTENSION CORD IT WILL BE CALLED A DEAD BALL AND WILL BE CONSIDERED THROWN OUT OF PLAY; EACH RUNNER WILL BE AWARDED ONE BASE. (7.) BUNTING IS ALLOWED. A LINE WILL BE DRAWN AT THE 40 FOOT MARK AND ALL INFIELDERS MUST BE BEHIND THAT LINE UNTIL THE BALL IS DELIVERED THROUGH THE MACHINE. ALL OUTFIELDERS MUST STAY IN THE OUTFIELD GRASS UNTIL THE BALL IS DELIVERED THROUGH THE MACHINE. AND THE PLAYER PITCHER MUST HAVE ONE FOOT IN THE RECTANGULAR BOX. (8.) FAKE BUNTS ARE NOT ALLOWED. IF A BATTER SHOWS BUNT AND THEN SWINGS, WHETHER OR NOT CONTACT IS MADE, AN OUT WILL BE CALLED AND NO RUNNERS MAY ADVANCE. (9.) STEALING IS ALLOWED WITH THE FOLLOWING LIMITATIONS: (A) NO PLAYER CAN STEAL HOME OR SCORE ON A WILD PITCH OR PASSED BALL. (B) A BASERUNNER CAN STEAL WHEN THE BALL CROSSES HOME PLATE, AND THEN ONLY A ONE BASE ADVANCE IS ALLOWED. (EX: RUNNER ON FIRST STEALS, AND THE THROW GOES INTO THE OUTFIELD. THAT RUNNER CAN NOT ADVANCE TO THIRD UNTIL THE NEXT PITCH) (C) THE PENALTY FOR LEAVING A BASE TO EARLY IS THE RUNNER WILL BE CALLED OUT (D) IF THE MACHINE THROWS A BALL AND THE HOME PLATE UMPIRE JUDGES THAT IT IS UNCATCHABLE (TOO HIGH OR TOO WIDE) A NO PITCH WILL BE CALLED AND NO RUNNERS MAY ADVANCE. (E) IF A THROWN BALL HITS THE MACHINE OR UMPIRE EACH BASERUNNER WILL BE AWARDED THE BASE THEY WERE ADVANCING TO. (F) INFIELD FLY RULE WILL BE CALLED (10.) NO BATTERS WILL BE WALKED OR INTENTIONALLY WALKED. ALL AT BATS WILL EITHER END WITH THE BALL BEING PUT INTO PLAY OR A STRIKEOUT. (11.) NO HEADFIRST SLIDES WILL BE ALLOWED, A DIVE BACK TO THE BASE ON A PICKOFF PLAY IS NOT CONSIDERED A SLIDE. (12.) ALL BATTERS MUST WEAR A HELMET WITH EAR FLAPS AND A PROTECTIVE MASK. REMEMBER NO MORE THAN THREE SCHEDULED EVENTS PER WEEK PER TEAM. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN! .
