There is no shell. The tiny MOLLUSCA solenogasters have bristle-like spicules over Chitons, bivalves, sea snails, sea almost the whole body, a groove on the underside of the body, and no gills. The more worm-like slugs, octopus, squid, tusk shells caudofoveates have a groove and fewer spicules but have gills. There are 10 species, 8 undescribed. CIOCCO,Néstorf. * · DIAZ, Miguel Á. ** i RESUMEN · En el golfo San José (Chubut, Argentina, 42° Lat. S.) se encuentran individuos libres y fijos del géne­ ro Pododesmus cuya morfología coincide con la descripción de P. rudis y P. /e/oiri, respectivamente. Se compara la morfología valvar de ainbos tipos de vida y se estudia la influencia del ambiente sobre las mismas. Se analizan las diferencias entre ambas especies, concluyendo que P. /e/oiri es sólo una forma de P. rudis. SUMMARY Observations on the morphology of Pododesmus rudis with reference.to the diagnosis of Pododesmus /eloiri <:arcelles (Bivalvia, Anomiidae) . · Free · arid attached individuals of Pododesmus were found in San José gulf (Chubut, Argentina, 42 º Lat. S.); according to their morphology, both forms can be assigned to P.rudis and P. /e/oiri, · respectively. The shell morphology of free and attached specimens is compared and the influence of environmental factors on shell shape of both habits is analized. Differences between both species are discussed, concluding thatP. le/oiri is a form of P. rudis. INTRODUCCION . Almost 120 mollusk species are known to present imposex when exposed to organic tin compounds as tributyltin (TBT) and triphenyltin (TPT). These compounds are used as biocide agents in antifouling paints to prevent the incrustations on boats. Five gastropod species are known to present imposex in Brazil: Stramonita haemastoma, Stramonita rustica, Leucozonia nassa, Cymathium parthenopeum and Olivancillaria vesica. This paper reports the first record of imposex observed in the endemic gastropod Voluta ebraea from Pacheco Beach, Northeast Brazil. Animals presenting imposex had regular female reproductive organs (capsule gland, oviduct and sperm-ingesting gland) and an abnormal penis. As imposex occurs in mollusks exposed to organotin compounds typically found at harbors, marinas, shipyards and areas with high shipping activities, probably contamination of Pacheco Beach is a consequence of a shipyard activity located in the nearest areas.

Males mature at smaller sizes and do not grow as large as females. Mantle oval, short, saccular. Dorsal mantle free from head (not fused to head). Fins wide; ovate; short, do not exceed length of mantle anteriorly or posteriorly. Head slightly broader than mantle; eyes large. Male and female arms moderate length. Non-hectocotylized arm sucker arrangement same in both sexes: arm suckers biserial, suckers sparsely arranged; median arm suckers enlarged in males; larger than female arm suckers. Hectocotylus present, both dorsal arms modified: ventrolateral edge of proximal oral surface of hectocotylized arms bordered by swollen glandular crest, inner edge of which forms a deep furrow; glandular crest extends over sucker rows 3 to 8. Club slightly recurved, short; sucker-bearing face convex; tentacular club not expanded, same width as stalk; with 30 to 40 suckers in transverse rows; all suckers of similar minute size; swimming keel of club extends slightly proximal to carpus. Anal flaps well developed. Epirenal bodies and anal pads absent. Ink sac well developed. Colour: Pinkish brown, with scattered dark purple chromatophores; fins pigmented the same as the mantle; dorsal pigmentation extends to ventral surface of fins. Size: Up to 90 mm mantle length.

Cárdenas1 Received: 10 August 2018 / Revised: 30 April 2019 / Accepted: 8 May 2019 © Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2019 Abstract In the Southern Ocean, many parasites of vertebrates (mainly helminth groups) have been recognized as endemic species, but parasites of marine invertebrates remain almost unknown. It is reasonable to assume that digenean larvae will parasitize gastropods, bivalves, amphipods, and annelids, the usual frst and second intermediate hosts for those parasites. Here, using an identifcation assisted by molecular markers, we report the Digenea species parasitizing the most abundant limpet species inhabiting ice-free rocky intertidal and subtidal zones of the Southern Ocean, viz. Nacella concinna from the Antarctic and Nacella deaurata from the Magellan region. The limpets harbored larval Digenea (two metacercariae and one sporocyst). Phylogenetic analysis based on the multilocus tree supported the hypothesis that N. concinna is parasitized by a species of Gymnophallidae, whereas the limpet N. deaurata is parasitized by Gymnophalloides nacellae and a species of Renicolidae. In addition, diferences in prevalence and intensity were also recorded between the two compared host species and also from other congeneric species. This new knowledge in parasite species in marine invertebrates from the Southern Ocean reveals the presence of a particular parasite fauna and confrms the utility of molecular tools to identify biodiversity still scarcely known.
