    FROM The VAULTS Newsletter of the Georgia Archives www.GeorgiaArchives.org Volume 2, No. 1 February 2017 The Georgia Archives Building State Historian and Archives Director Louise Hays thought that the Georgia Archives would be preparing to move to a new building on the Capitol Square with the State Library and perhaps the Supreme Court as soon as World War II was over. It took another twenty years, a new State Archivist (Mary Givens Bryan), and a new Secretary of State (Ben W. Fortson, Jr.) to complete the white marble structure on Capitol Avenue. The Archives had moved from the fourth floor of the Capitol in 1929 and 1930 to the twenty-room mansion donated by the heirs of furniture magnate Amos G. Rhodes at 1516 Peachtree Street NW. From the beginning it was obvious that a fireproof building designed as an archives would be preferable to Rhodes Hall. Governor Lamartine Griffin Hardman in 1931 proposed carving a giant records storage facility into the core of Stone Mountain. A. R. Magazine . T,he outstand­ ing work of our Chapter is the marking of Peter Kolb's grave. At ,our regular monthly meetings we used historical programs outlined by State ,Committee. PULASKI CHAPTER, GRIFFIN Mrs. Frank S. Pittman, Regent Pulaski Chapter has 70 members, having ,gained four during the y,ear , and lost two by transfer; 22 of these Daughter ,s are non-resi­ dents. Meetings have been held regularly at the Memorial Club House . Instructive and interesting programs haVle been .given and the fol­ lowing patriotic days celebrated: Flag Day, Independence Day, Constitution and Magna Charta Days , LaFayette's Birthday, Navy Day, Armistice Day , Woodrow Wilson' ·s Birthday , Thanksgiving, Georgia Day, Washington's Birthday and International Day. The Chapter entered a Revolutionary Officier in •official uniform in the Arml:stice Pageant sponsored by the American Legion. Pulaski Chapter assisted in the Red Cross Driv ,e, securing $111.00 and led all other or.ganizations in the sale of Christmas Seais, sell­ ing 5,000. A medal iis .given each year to the High Scho·ol pupil making the highest mark in American Hf.story . Pulaski Chapter celebrated its thirty-,.seventh anniversary on Feb ­ ruary 6th with a very beautiful home-coming birthday party. All former Daughters and the members of William McIntosh Chapter , of Jack ,son, Ga. , and Gov. Edward Telfair, Thomaston, Ga., were invited.

    Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2011 Annual Report of the Georgia Historical Society Fiscal Year 2011 INTRODUCTION W. Todd Groce, PhD President and Chief Executive Officer Fiscal Year 2011 (July 1, 2010-June 30, 2011) was a banner one for the Georgia Historical Society. Due to the launch of a capital and capacity building campaign the institution enjoyed its most prosperous year in nearly 175 years of continuous operation. As evidence of this, GHS raised a record $5 million for educational programming, archival services, capital projects and endowment. The endowment continued to rebound, and at the end of the fiscal year reached $6.54 million, close to its pre-recession level. Total assets grew from $7,382,181 in FY10 to $13,476,604 at the end of FY11, an increase of 82.5 percent. This healthy bottom line was due in part to careful financial management, dynamic board leadership, a recovering stock market, and the creation of two new endowment funds: the Dr. Henry Sauls Fund, established by a gift of $25,000 from John and Laura Wallace; and the Allan Gaynor Fund, established by an initial bequest of $300,000 from Alan Gaynor, a long-time supporter of GHS. The primary reason, however, for the significant increase in the Society’s net assets was the acquisition in June 2011 of the property at 104 West Gaston Street in Savannah for development as the Jepson House Education Center. Named in honor of philanthropists and higher education champions Robert and Alice Jepson, this is the first physical expansion of the Georgia Historical Society in forty years.

This Law regulates labour and its concomitant relations in the territory of Georgia, unless they are otherwise governed by other special law or international agreements of Georgia. 2. Labour-related questions not governed by this Law or by other special law shall be regulated by the norms of the Civil Code of Georgia. 3. A labour agreement may not establish norms different from those provided for by this Law that can worsen employees’ condition.
