Fukuoka, Japan, 25th March, 2013 - CyberConnect2 Co., Ltd., a Japanese video game developer based in Fukuoka, Japan, announced today its latest release of illustrations and smartphone wallpapers contributed to “Mamoru-kun Reconstruction Support Project” (Japanese: まもるくん 復興支援プロジェクト). This charity project aims to support people in the 3.11 disaster area with CyberConnect2 selling original illustrations from Mamoru-kun Universe on gumroad, an online e-commerce service, and donating all of the profits to the Japanese Red Cross Society. The 10th and 11th updates include new illustrations contributed by the artists of 3 companies (NHN Service Technology Corp., Matrix Corp., Graphinica Inc.), along with new illustrations from CC2 artists and external contributors. Since the project’s launch on 25th May 2012, we have been continuously adding new illustrations, not only from CyberConnect2 artists but also from external artists, reaching a total of 75 provided works. After the earthquake, this project along with fund-raising events raised 393.181 JPY (as of January 2013) and donated all to the Japanese Red Cross Society. In addition, marking the 2nd year after the 3.11 Earthquake, a new video message from Hiroshi Matsuyama (CEO, CyberConnect2) is published on the web, calling for cooperation and thanking for all the collaboration. Currently the project is seeking contributions from residents of Japan, but the company hopes to accept international contributions in the future. About Mamoru-kun Mamoru-kun is a mascot character created by CyberConnect2 for Fukuoka prefecture’s disaster preparation program. The purpose of the program is to increase Fukuoka citizens’ awareness of disaster preparation. Mamoru-kun’s face appears on the program’s posters and his name is used for the prefecture’s disaster alert email service. "Mamoru-kun" and “Tail Concerto” (a PlayStation game, developed by CyberConnect2) as well as Solatorobo (a Nintendo DS title, also developed by CyberConnect2) share the same universe called “Little Tail Bronx”.
