It was once again a privilege for me to coach the boys Jacob also enjoyed his season, showing great improvement throughout the season. 5 of the boys played together last with the ball with a nice quick action. Jacob hit 69 runs for year so they all knew each other well. We had 3 new players the year with a top score of 16, and claimed 6 wickets with in Phoenix, Byron and Ben who all fitted in well from the the ball. start. I believe we ended up in 2nd place at the end of the season after ending up on the same points as the other Thomas also loved his cricket again this year, his bowling Dragons team but having a better quotient. Our nemesis was accurate last year but he was bowling about twice team was Como-Jannali who didn’t lose a game all season. as quick as last year, and his batting was the standout improvement with some quality technical strokes I think all the boys showed great improvement throughout throughout the year. Thomas hit 73 runs with a top score the year, but none more than the 2 first year players in of 19, he was unlucky with ball only claiming 3 wickets. Byron and Ben. Koby and Lachlan batted amazingly all year together, their Byron was so keen to listen and learn, this combined with running between wickets was great to watch each week. a great hand eye co-ordination showed he’ll be a quality Both boys loved their keeping as well, and they were both young player of the future. He struggled with his bowling alert and keen in the field. Koby hit 111 runs with a top technique at the start of the season because he had never score of 24 no. and a batting average of 37. Koby also played before but by the end of the season he went away bowled exceptionally well all year with 6 wickets. with a good solid compact bowling action with minimal no balls. Byron ended up hitting 67 runs for the year and also Lachlan’s stats say it all, he is a great talent and a player of claimed 5 wickets. the future. Lachlan ended up with 6 catches, 11 run outs and a stumping for the season, he hit 196 runs and only got Ben also a first year player had a great enthusiasm for the out once all season giving him a batting average of 196, his game which carried him well through the year. Ben showed top score was 39no. He claimed 15 wickets with the ball at some good technique with the bat and worked hard all an average of 3.33 runs per wicket. season on his bowling action. Ben’s top score for the year was 10 no and he also claimed 3 wickets for the year. I need to thank Michelle for managing the team and managing me throughout the season, if it wasn’t for Phoenix showed some great skills throughout the season Michelle nothing would have happened. Big thanks also to and was one of the standouts, he was one of the more all the parents for helping out at training and on game day accurate bowlers rarely bowling a wide or no ball, with the with scoring, and drinks and snacks for the kids. bat he started slowly but had some awesome innings’ later in the season. Phoenix hit 88 runs with a top score of 27 no. I think the best thing for me was seeing how all the boys and also claiming 8 wickets with the ball. seemed to enjoy each game and look forward to the next. I hope some of the cricket skills I’ve tried to impart on them Mackam was a solid performer throughout the year will help them on their way to a long cricketing career. enjoying success with all aspects of the game. Mackam was a bit unlucky with the bat, he promised on several Darren Chapman occasions to push on to a big score. Mackam hit 58 runs with the bat and 2 wickets with the ball.

It was an exciting year for all the kids, parents and supporters. With a few new faces in the team we witnessed some firsts with Jarrod taking his first ever wicket, Jack making 4 run outs, Torin our highest run scorer, Bianca our leading wicket taker and Lachie the best batting average. Lachie also featured in 2 x 50 run partnerships with Kobey and Torin. Ryan picked up 5 wickets for the year. Wil scored 71 runs over the season and Harry took a spectacular catch. Training paid off with constant improvements every week. Thank you to all the parents that helped with scoring and training, your help was greatly appreciated.

Another season down and another great effort from the Josh Perritt boys in a strong competition. This kind of attitude, along with the obvious talent that Dylan has, will see him go further in this game. Cameron Westlake I don’t think I will ever meet someone who wouldn’t want Ben Gilbert Cammy Westlake in their team. The effort and enthusiasm Ben proved himself as a solid opening bowler this year, that Cam shows every week is awesome to watch. Good taking many scalps with his accurate fast bowling. Solid with the bat, ball and gloves this year….Cam backed up his with the bat as well, Ben helped us last the overs out on a attitude with solid ability. Great team player! few occasions. Jacob Mifsud Jacob is a coach’s dream to have in a side, one of the nicest kids I have coached in 15 years. The new inclusions to the side were Chris Jackson, these days. Everyone chipped in all year whether it with bat, ball, field or comedy value it was all highly valued. Cheers We had a few blokes’ score over 200 runs and a couple take 15 or more wickets and also blokes taking 5 or more catches, so in the end was a good all round team effort. We ended up (somehow), needing an outright in the last game

What a year!!! Team Blue minor premiers, basically • Finding out that a keeper can roll his arm over, Jerry premiers, oh wait PREMIERS!!!!! stat’s were 4/15 @ 3.75, just goes to show that keepers are the best bowlers. GOOOO JERRY!!!! For some of these guys it was their first ever cricket final, • Matty Lister taking over the gloves and proving 100% success rate boys. A lot of great things happened for why he deserved the gloves for the final, not a bad us this season including; bowler either with 3/40 @ 13.33, proving me right again that keepers are the best bowlers. • We had 4 tons, Merry’s 103n/o (his first ton), • Old man Pete showing the young ones how to Terrance’s 174 (his first ton), Matty Wright’s 118 fielding in short, even if he looked like he just kept and Kedwell’s 130 (his first ton). Macca just missed falling over. out hitting 97. • This one maybe isn’t great but still to this have no • Having the most competition points within the clue how it happened, Chris Hall season ending whole Association, not bad fellas. knee injury while playing a block, but to his credit • Discovering the team’s ‘golden arm’ in CP, who still wanted to be part of the team. knew he could clean up the tail as well as he did? • Ryan always willing to put his hand up to do the • When the team needed wickets in the last game, best for the team, opening the bat and scoring an excellent choice to bring on Cameron, much 51n/o to the disgust to most the team including Cam, • And finally the masterstroke to bowl Trent in the proved to be the right decision with Cam getting final proved to be a real match winner getting 2 2-6 off his 1 over, told ya boys! Also, same case crucial wickets to get us the win, by the way Trent, for Andy when he replaced his dad with the ball you must share how someone at your height getting 4/11, well done mate managed to bowl someone with a mullygrubber. • Macca getting 5/14 on his 18th. • Steve taking one of the strangest catches you will I would also like to thank Benny, Kieran, Ryan, Trevor, Tristan ever see, were you playing soccer Steve? Who and Liam for filling in for us when we were short. It’s been cares it went down on my figures as a wicket, awesome season boys and hopefully we return next year cheers mate. and take out the comp again. • Amazing Josh K finished with one of the better batting averages this year with 17, not bad for a Cheers number 10.
