The duo (Tyler By Bethany Thompson Joseph and Josh Dun) rose to fame in 2015 after their hit album “Blurryface”. The album had popular songs, namely ‘HeavyDirtySoul’, ‘Ride’, and ‘Stressed Out’. Twenty One Pilots also recorded ‘Heathens’ for the movie ‘Suicide Squad’, which was nominated for three Grammy’s at the 59th Annual Awards Ceremony. The vocalist (Tyler Joseph) connects with his fans through the lyrics of his songs. “There’s always that fear of your own head and the things you’re going to think.”- Tyler Joseph In Year 9 GCSE Music, we have been working on Also in GCSE Music we have been developing our filming and producing our own music videos. THE VOICE 3 June 2018 THE ARTS Film Review: Notting Hill (1999) anybody who enjoys light-hearted comedy and romance. Notting Hill is a romantic comedy with a star- studded cast including Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts My Rating: 9/10 and Rhys Ifans. The film itself has a detailed but simple plot, By Bethany Thompson which centres around William “Will” Thacker (Hugh Grant) and his travel bookshop. When Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) meets Will in the bookshop, there is a tension between the two which is later acted upon. There are lots of laughs, love and even some arguments, but Richard Curtis’s brilliant screenplay leaves you falling in love with each and every character. The movie won a BAFTA and was nominated in two other categories, as well as a BRIT Award for the soundtrack. The theme song to the movie was “When You Say Nothing At All” by Ronan Keating. Notting Hill was the highest grossing movie in 1999 and I would recommend this movie to YEAR 11 Prom is an exciting time of the year for many students in year 11 at TPS. Although there is lots of plan- ning that goes into this event, it will be worth it once we see the amazing venue that has been selected. We are eager to see all the fancy cars but even if you don’t have a fancy, we are still excited to see you all in your lovely dresses and smart suits! The 2018 prom will take place on the 6th of July 2018 at Madeley Court Hotel. We are excited for the buffet and all the new jams that will be playing. As well as all the food and good music that will be there, all students will also receive a free professional photo from photographer Ste- ve Elliott. Additional photos can also be purchased from the photographer either on the night or via his website. In order for all students to go to prom, students have been required to complete the “Passport to Suc- cess” criteria. Having achieved the set criteria, students are invited to attend prom which is a relaxing celebration after finishing all our hardworking school years and hopefully passing our GCSE’s. This is the criteria needed to attend 2018 Prom is: • Students must attend all lessons and complete all work set. • Students’ attendance must be above 94%. • Students must not have spent more than 1 day in the internal inclusion room. • Students that have more than 6 C4 detentions will not be able to attend the prom. • Students must attend 10 intervention sessions (as a minimum). • Students excluded from school will not be able to attend the prom . There have also been additional prizes for students working hard and achieving the success criteria. All completed cards are being paced into a prize draw for vouchers (£40 1st, £20 2nd and £10 3rd).
