WEEKLY “NOTES & NUGGETS” FROM THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME NEW ARTIFACTS; WORLD BOWL TO AIR NEXT WEEK; INSPIRES STUDENTS; FROM THE ARCHIVES: 250-YARD RECEIVING GAMES

CANTON, OHIO – The following is a sampling of events, happenings and notes that highlight how the Pro Football Hall of Fame serves its important mission to “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE!”

WHITE GLOVE TREATMENT The Pro Football Hall of Fame is home to the world’s largest collection on pro football in the world. Each year, the collection grows as artifacts from milestone moments from the current NFL season arrive in Canton.

Here are some of the artifacts that arrived at the Hall this week. The Hall of Fame’s curatorial team put on the white gloves to handle the historic mementos:

• A game ball from the Washington Redskins and the jersey worn by Dustin Hopkins who made the game- winning field goal in the team’s 16-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Dec. 16. The victory marked the Redskins’ 600th regular season win in franchise history. Washington is only the fifth NFL franchise to reach 600 regular season victories. CURLEY CULP INSPIRES YOUTH THROUGH HEART OF A HALL OF FAMER The Heart of a Hall of Famer series, powered by Extreme Networks, provides students the opportunity to learn first-hand what it took beyond athletic ability for legendary Heroes of the Game to achieve success on and off the field. The program focuses on the Hall of Fame’s values of commitment, integrity, courage, respect and excellence.

On Thursday, CURLEY CULP took part in a remote the Heart of a Hall of Famer series at Manor (Texas) High School. He spoke about the values he learned from the game and how he applied them to life off the field.

CURLEY CULP INSPIRES STUDENTS: “First you have to be committed. You have to be dedicated to what you are doing . . . Then I think you need courage - you are going to have bumps in the road. How you deal with those bumps in the road determine how you succeed in life. Lastly, excellence - being the best you can possibly be. Those are my top three.”

PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME WORLD BOWL PRESENTED BY XENITH The Pro Football Hall of Fame World Bowl Presented by Xenith is being played on Sunday, Dec. 22 at Azul Stadium in Mexico City. The top high school football players will compete in the World Bowl.

The players were selected based on their elite football ability, his Hall of Fame character and background. Longtime national recruiting expert Gary Howard, who oversees the selection team comprised of scouts, Hall of Famers and former NFL executives, stated “To be named among the top players in the world and deserving of this special invite, recognizes each player’s special playmaking ability and talent.”

The coaches and scouting staff for the game will feature Gold Jacket (a term used to refer to living members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame) and former NFL GM Ray Farmer along with former legendary NFL coaches like former Raiders Chuck Bresnahan and former Dallas Cowboys Assistant Head Coach Robert Ford. NFL Legends Tory Holt, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh will also coach in the Bowl.

CBS Sports Network will air the World Bowl Presented by Xenith on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 7 to 10 p.m. ET. Hall of Famer ANTHONY MUÑOZ will call the play-by-play and Howard will serve as the game analyst.

FROM THE , JR. PRO FOOTBALL RESEARCH & PRESERVATION CENTER: The Ralph Wilson, Jr. Pro Football Research & Preservation Center is home to the world’s largest collection on football including a personal legacy archive on every player who has competed in the NFL since its founding in 1920. Contained inside the archives are more than 40 million pages of documents and six million photographic images.

Staff help a variety of patrons from fans, researchers, authors, and students as well as serving as a resource of information to the , its 32 clubs and members of the media.

250-YARD RECEIVING GAMES IN NFL HISTORY There have been 29 times in NFL history that a player has recorded 250 receiving yards in a game. Atlanta Falcons reached the milestone three times and is the only player to have done so more than once. The list includes three Hall of Fame receivers: , and .

Construction on Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village, an $889 million development project that includes 10 main components, is under way in Canton to transform the Hall of Fame’s campus.
