ONYX AND GOLD NECKLACE which belonged to Lewis, General Washington's sister. According to family tradition, the necklace was given to Mrs. Lewis by the General. Gift of Mrs. Edmond A. Garesche of St. Louis County, Missouri, through the Vice-Regent for Missouri. Mrs. Garesche inherited it from her aunt, Mrs. Paul Brown, a descendant of Mrs. Lewis.

MASONIC PIN with Washington-Custis family associations. This interesting Masonic emblem was preserved by descendants of 's granddaughter, Martha Parke Custis Peter. It was at one time reported to have been removed from General Washington's clothing after his death, but the devisor could only affirm that it might have belonged to the General. (See opposite.) SNUFF BOX containing a lock of General Washington's hair, and a reading glass authenticated by the late William Lanier Washington as having belonged to the General. Gifts of Mrs. Henry H.
